Parattanni (whose wingman is Manaroo)

You usually don't need to. Biggs does just fine with one large ship (Kanan) or a couple small ships (like Norra and Miranda). Biggs also has Integrated Astromech and/or regen, which amounts to more than 1 extra health (minimum 2). Biggs' wingmen are vulnerable to ordnance, but Kaato himself is vulnerable to ordnance. If I was facing Kaato, I'd be more than happy to watch him steal an Evade from either of the more expensive, more important ships as I shoot them instead.

Fly it and let us know how it does.

Will do. :) This is mostly theory though, I must admit. You guys could be right and he is utter ****. I plan on testing it some tonight.

I don't think there is one answear to to that question, you adapt to the enemy list. I had games where Fenn was almost nothing but a focus caddy for the other two, because of some kind of Ace instadeath gamey effect. Other times you will want that ekstra focus on him in range one.

Wonder if any of the new Syck pilots will help with mindlink? I mean, you can get a 16 point mindlink Syck with the light title. Maybe one of the new pilots will be cheaper/have an interesting ability that boosts it.

I've benn playing Mindlinked Kaa'to for about 50 games so far. He has mindlink, thread tracers and chips. 17p of pure awesomeness... he fires the tracers and my TLT+Dengar Palob, my HLsCyk and my Mangler Scyk all get TLs. Last regionals I blasted Dengar leaving him on 1 hull in first exchange in my first game. Left him on 2hull in my 6th game... after that Kaa'to just dances around generating focuses for everybody.

His ability doesn't suck, either. If your opponent has initiative, and Old teroch strips your tokens... Kaa'to steals one from a nearby ship, and both of them recover theirs. Enemy Palob steals your focus? Same thing here. My Kaa'to always has 2 (sometimes 3) focuses. Or a focus + evade. Dunno, I really like him. And the alpha strike potential is brutal.

Bottanni perhaps?

Contracted Scout (25)
Attanni Mindlink (1)
BoShek (2)

Fenn Rau (28)
Attanni Mindlink (1)
Autothrusters (2)
Concord Dawn Protector (1)

Asajj Ventress (37)
Attanni Mindlink (1)
Ketsu Onyo (1)

Total: 99

There is a point to spend somewhere, maybe BMST on the Scout or just have an initiative bid. Now you have a dedicated blocker rather than a support ship.

Hmmm.... Ketsu Onyo on list you cannot handle Tractor Beam tokens?

What kind of mystery is that?

At least we are reasonably discussing build options. That's nice. I think Fenn, Teroch and Asajj is an interesting option.

I agree that Fenn seems to need to go now. This seems like a perfectly viable alternative (maybe Vectored Thrusters on Palob instead of APL on Manaroo):

Asajj Ventress (37)
+ Latts Razzi (2)
+ Attanni Mindlink (1)

Manaroo (27)
+ Anti-Pursuit Lasers (2)
+ Attanni Mindlink (1)

Palob Goalhi (20)
+ Twin Laser Turret (6)
+ Dengar (3)
+ Attanni Mindlink (1)

I will be playtesting this idea this weekend; This seems very interesting but I worry that Palob even with the TLT isn't producing enough firepower but I will need to try it myself first.

I was considering replacing Manaroo with a scout with mindlink, then giving Asajj gyros :D

This is another idea I like so in this build is Manaroo and the Scout flown together in formation or are you flying Manaroo with Assaj and then allowing the Scout to try and outflank the opponent?

Instead of anti persuit lasers on Manaroo, try cloak on Palop. Nobody wants to shoot at a cloaked HWK with a focus and wich probably stole your evade or focus. Used him to good effect in a couple of tournaments last year. Trick is you don't fly him like a phantom, but pop the cloak when people get inside you range one TLT donout hole.

You misunderstood me :D

The list would be.

Scout, mindlink

Asajj, mindlink, Latts, Gyros

Fenn, mindlink, Title, Autothrusters

The scout replaces Manaroo, and while you lose out on Manaroo passing tokens, you gain action economy with the gyros, and use the scout as a focus generator or a blocker, depending on the situation.

Oliver Pocknell, fellow 186th pilot, flew this and finished top 8 at the Yavin system open.

Fenn Rau
Attanni Mindlink
Autothrusters

Old Teroch
Attanni Mindlink
Autothrusters

Asajj Ventress
Attanni Mindlink
Latts Razzi

Oh okay still probably going to try it out, thanks or the clarification :)

@nurglez I'm really curious about the decision between title on both protectorates and Latts Razi. Probably boils down to playing style. Without the title you really are going to have to be careful with your small ships....

read the report I linked. Oli Took it to top 8 of the Yavin System open, which was a 363 person event.

Why change something? I'll just run Manaroo where I most need her, that's simple. Depends how the game is going.

Don't know why I have to plan something, and run it with automatic pilot. I will adapt during the game.

Haven't watched the games yet but I think it is a very difficult choice. Sounds like the title really could have helped in a few games. Obviously, taking the title and losing Latts will make target priority shift towards Asajj. What is not obvious is whether that is a good thing in most match-ups or not.
