I bought him the Ion Shielding mod, Escape Circuit, Holo-messenger, Com Scrambler, Emergency Repair Patches, and maybe the Networked Slicing Up link or Black Ops Data Breaker. The rest comes factory installed. He started with 12,000 credits including obligations and duties. Some of his items is comes as his base droid model.

Technically you can only benefit from a single starting resource, in other words you have to pick Obligation or Duty and only benefit from that single thing. Obviously GM's can give you extra cash or experience, but that's between you and them.

The talents are not showing up so I can't confirm the xp spent.

Knight level starting characters start out with 9500 credits and I took some duty's for 2500 more credits.

Ok first off Brawl isnt a Career skill for this character, Melee is, so change that to start, the weapons and skill ranks can stay but it just costs an extra 10xp. If the GM has approved this change as a one off then keep it as is.

Second is that the sheet shows xp as 175+220 (395 total), is this a knight level character or has the GM provided 70 additional xp?

Now when i add things up you have spent:

140xp on Characteristics

115xp on Talents, including the second Spec of Slicer.

135 or 145xp (depending on the Brawl/Melee thing) on Skill ranks after all the 9 free ranks from the species.

Thats a total of 390 or 400xp. So either you spent 5xp too much or 5 too little depending on the Brawl/Melee thing.

The game has started a few months before I joined. My gm is looking over and balancing my character this week. The fangs and claws require the brawl skill just like the droid in the guardian book. He is a variant of that droid.

Ok that's fine if the GM approved it. A droid can integrate combat knives or vibro knives just as easy, but I can see how you would want the Ensnare 1 quality. In which case good news, you have 5 more xp to use if you want, or to hold onto.
