Moraband/Korriban for non-force users

By Imperial Stormtrooper, in Game Masters

My current group that I'm GMing is currently attempting to liberate a planet, that just happens to be in the same sector as Moraband (Korriban depending on your preference), which I see as the perfect opportunity to introduce a villain that could be used in later campaigns. I intend to have them go there to collect and restore the Dreadnought class and maybe a separatist ship or two, that I'm saying got there at the very end of the clone wars (possible after Order 66, these droids did not shut down). Most of them will be in orbit, which is where most of the fleet will go, but I intend for them to go to the surfaces where 1-2 dreadnoughts and 2-3 CIS ships are, then (without giving too much away just in case) battle droids, attack and lead them into some catacombs in hopes of shutting them down, and I think you can see were this is heading.

I feel if I can pull this off right, it will integrate the players more into the role-playing aspect of the game. Also, one player wants to make a new character so I see this as an interesting write out, but to pull this off I need help with a few things.

1. Droideka stats: None of the books I have (do any?) contain stats for them, and I want something more dramatic than simply going, MORE BATTLE DROIDS!!!! So here's my take on them, they probably need some tweaks:

Droideka “Destroyer Droid” [Rival]

Brawn: 3 Agility: 1 Intellect: 2 Cunning: 2 Willpower: 1 Presence: 1

Soak: 4 Wound Threshold: 9 M/R Defense: 2/3

Skills: Ranged (Light) 4, Coordination 3, Cool 2, Vigilance 2, Athletics 1

Talents: Fearless

Abilities: Droid

Equipment: Two twin Blaster Pistols (Ranged (Light); Damage 6; Crit 3; Range [Medium]; Stun Setting, Linked 1) Droideka Shield (+3 Ranged defense, +2 Melee defense).

2. What do you think you (or your players) would find a more interesting character write out; death or betrayal? I'm trying not to give too much away, since whiles it's unlikely they look here, but I might be wrong. The player seems to be fine with most write outs.

IIRC, Destroyer Droid stats can be found in Chronicles of the Gatekeeper .

I'd probably go with betrayal; if they're not given an awesome sendoff, it can be underwhelming. I had my first PC written out in such a way and it was really disappointing, even though I was done with the character. Making them a reoccurring NPC enemy gives you more narrative possibilities.

Yes, together with informations and possible encounters on Moraband.

In Chronicles of the Gatekeeper there are some information on Moraband, with stats for Droideka (in part II)

There are also rules about dark vergence and using Force Powers on Moraband; however, is very little more than ugly harsh sandy planet for not jedi :\
