I'm sure rebels would kill for a card like Palpy that they could put in a U-wing even if it was seen as a 'tax'. '29 pt' Palps was obviously worth it to protect two imp super aces like Vader/fel or double defenders, or the rare three pocket aces, because those lists were ubiquitous. And if we do see less of Papa Palpatine the. Maybe IMP list building will be diversified again.

rebels didn't need a card like palp, they have lando, c3po, r2d2, jan ,jyn, rey and several other really good crew/astromech cards, imperials have very little options that can even compare but i feel palp is the reason why imperials don't have that many good crew cards. The u-wing is also vastly better than the lambda with a much better dial and title card. Old palp was a really good card because it helped where imperials lacked, dice manipulation, they had very little good competitive options for that. With nerfs to several meta list I hope it does bring diversity to list building again. I've a list that I've been flying with high success in my local meta now that manaroo has been benched.

Solid FAQ, but I really hoped they'd address the Snap Shot + Blinded Pilot question. (whether Snap Shot gives an opportunity to attack to clear Blinded Pilot even if there isn't an enemy ship in arc at range 1)

What would you have them say about Targeting Synchroniser?

Is rerolling dice a game effect? If yes can i use the target lock from the ship with Synchroniser to reroll dice or does it work only with missiles/torpedoes?

Can i shoot a missile that dont require me to spend the target lock, like homing or Ion Pulse? Ex ship 1 has homing missile but no lock, ship 2 has a lock and Synchroniser. Can ship 1 shoot his missile on the target locked by ship 2?

We still dont know...

The second part is a definite yes, assuming ship 1 is at the right range (ship 1 can fire its homing missile when ship 2 has TS and a TL on the target and is at the right range to ship 1).

Yeah, I seem to have gotten in an argument over this since posting. I had no idea there was an issue over it and I still think it's a total non issue. The question isn't one of whether rerolling dice is a game effect but whether you are 'instructed to' spend the target lock in order to do so. I think it's absurd to try and twist the wording on 'Synchroniser this way, but it seems there are a few that want to do it. I am absolutely certain that it will be ruled against and TS will only work for the cost of firing a weapon, that being the only time you are instructed to spend a target lock.

As for the other question, though, yes, you can fire Ion Pulse Missiles from the TL of a ship with TS. I don't think there's any doubt about that.

Mind you, I didn't think there was any doubt about the other, either...

I'm in the camp that feels anything that says "spend a target lock" is the game instructing you to...spend a target lock. So anything with those words should work with synchronizer. Rerolling, latts razzi's ability, Norra's ability, etc

same here and we even have another set of rules to compare with it under target lock that use pretty much the same exact wording.

Quote
If an ability instructs a ship to “acquire a target
lock,” this is different than performing an acquire
a target lock action.

Vessery, system officer, fcs are all examples of that to name a few.

Is it just me, or did they flip some of the wording in the HSCP clarification?

"When attacking a ship with Hotshot Co-pilot equipped, the defender must spend the focus token after the "Declare Target" step and before the end of the "Modify Defense Dice" step.

When defending against a ship with Hotshot Co-pilot equipped, the attacker must spend a focus token after the "Declare Target" step and before the end of the "Modify Attack Dice" step."

I think you're right, I think they have mis-worded it. It makes no sense. It read as if the player with Hotshot has to spend a focus.

This is quite frustrating as this makes Hotshot more confusing for me. I understand that I now can't choose when a defender spends their token or vice versa, but as far as the FAQ text goes, its just created another query I need answered.
