So can the station use Ackbars ability?
Ackbar and armed station
No, because the station is not a ship nor does it have a left or right hull zone.
When attacking it is treated as a ship with one hullzone. No mention if that is a left or right hull zone so i would go with no.
OK, so the station doesn't explicit have a left or a right hull zone. Ill buy that.
How about Sato then?
The station is not a ship. So any effects that affect ships are not applicable to it. The card itself implies this since it says the defender can activate the station in lieu of a ship.
Just to follow up, the Rules Reference pg 10 says "A ship consists of a ship base, a ship model, a ship token, and a ship card."
Technically speaking, the station has none of these.
Edited by WuFameI think the key here is that although the station is treated as a ship, it is not friendly to anyone, so it cannot resolve effects like Ackbar or Sato.
RRG, page 6:
"Friendly and Enemy
All ships and squadrons in the same fleet are friendly to each other. All ships and squadrons in an opposing fleet are enemy ships and squadrons.
• A ship or squadron is friendly to itself and can be targeted by an effect that specifies a friendly target unless it explicitly specifies “another” ship or squadron."
The station is not part of the fleet, so it cannot be friendly or enemy to anyone
Attacking Stations, CC, Rulebook, Page 3:
Hull Zone:
"A Station is tread as a ship with one hull zone while it as attacking or defending"
Sato:
"While a friendly ship is attacking..."
While it is attacking, it is a Ship, that is friendly to you. Its not beyond some doubt that it could indeed utilise the effect of Commander Sato.
My bad, missed the ship part in the CC rulebook. If that's the case, I agree it could use Sato.
But to use it, it must also be Friendly to you, and I don't think the station is friendly to anyone for the reasons I explained in my previous post:
RRG, page 6:

The station is not part of the fleet
Edited by Lemmiwinks86You also place the Station card with your Ships to represent it.

Yes, but it doesn't specify that you add the station to your fleet as it happens for example in the Fighter Wing objective that it tells that you add the squadrons to your fleet.
Interesting. It could be because there's no cost involved either way.
I don't have an answer for this one, either way - partly due to lack of carefactor to do the research of all the bits and pieces it entails... ![]()
