IGattanni

By charlesanakin, in X-Wing

Parattanni is the big thing right now so I came up with my own take:

IG88C-

FCS

AT

Title

Attanni Mindlink

Manaroo-

Attanni Mindlink

R4 Agromech

IG88D (crew)

Engine Upgrade

N'Dru Suhlak-

Attanni Mindlink

Cluster Missiles

Scavenger Crane

Guidance Chips

Thoughts?

The big issue here is that IG-88 likes to sloop. Paratanni almost never k-turns or does red maneuvers on purpose to avoid stress. The reason why Attanni Mindlink was not played very much for so long was because of this -- when it first came out, only Brobots were around, and they didn't use it because of their sloop-lovin'-selves.

That said, try flying it without slooping! Its probably pretty good :-)

I t-roll Fenn fairly often when I'm messing around with Parattanni. *shrug* Just make 100% you're in position to do a bunch of green maneuvers next turn and you're fine.

I goofed off with something similar for two weeks and it was pretty solid.

Cyborg: 99Points

  • Fenn Rau: Mindlink, title, AT
  • IG88-C: Mindlink, Collision Detector, AT
  • Manaroo: Mindlink

IG is quite the pain to kill when he has 2x Focus+Evade and autothrusters. I play IG super aggressive and use Fenn to flank, if my opponents go after Fenn then they end up with Charlie chasing them. He may not have a cannon but he can have TL+Focus most every turn. It was a lot of fun to fly. The 1 point bid is for Parattanni; give them initiative so Fenn can arc dodge/hunt Fenn and Charlie can do the same to Asajj.

I do red maneuver fairly frequently with Mindlink lists. You have to plan out your next turn in advance so you don't put your self in a pickle.

Ahh you finally did it. I wonder why we never thought of it. That's the way to get evade tokens. Good job!

That said, you have a moderate drop in offense: Fenn Rau does 5 dice very often at PS9 with strong repositioning to make it happen. Ndru is like driving a dairy truck.
IG also has the movement problem, its movement pattern needs more red moves, which increases complexity of movement. However, with practice probably doable.

If you could get Fenn Rau instead of Ndru, I think it would still be a bit stronger. Drop K4 for it? Or FCS.

At the end of the day, with Ndru, if you start losing one ship, the list begins to deteriorate very quickly. And you may still have issues with PS8+ aces. Also important to note: Paratanni has Asajj stress, which means its a very favorable match up for Paratanni vs you.

Also note: the IG2000 title does nothing, as the IGD crew isn't actually a 2000.

All that said, it looks quite fun to play! And Ndru is fun.

(Also personally I much prefer using glitterstim

I like this. Even though it doesn't include any fancy stuff like FCS and Engine Upgrade -> evade token passing.
