Good idea, I too have been feeling the pinch of no good FC platforms, and I'll be interested to see how this does.

Though I've got to point out that, in comparing it to the AF2, if you're giving the Hammerhead activation credit for the squadron token, you have to give the AF2 that credit also. Which means you're looking at a difference of 2 squadron activations, not 1.

Hmmm, that might be the first type of list I try out with the Hammerheads. A Leia fleet with some Hammerhead Pocket Carriers, Pelta Assault with Entrapment Formation/Engine Techs/External Racks, Medium - Large Squadron amount, and fill in with GR75(s) or CR90s or MORE Hammerheads. Seems interesting...

Are these hammerheads at least pocket carriers so they can maintain their squadron escort for the one turn it takes to reach ramming speed?

For one turn. I was comparing mainly JJ ultra minimalist approach of Flight Controllers and nothing else. On the second turn of commands, the pocket carrier would fleetingly match the AFII. You can obviously do the same tricks with the AFII to get it up to 4 on a consistent basis. The point still stands of doing 2/3 squads for 52ish points or 3/4 squads for 81 (assuming a Vet Cap).

Isnt this the same argument as MSU? All well and good, an Mc30 is as strong as an ISD, except in the respect that the mc30 dies.....

Absolutely.
