We do not wear booties! Wholly impractical for fleeing in fear. Astrid exclaims, though a quick look reveals Durrak's footwear to be dangerously booty-like. She shrugs and tilts her head at the figure on the throne.

I've read a lot of historical writings, and it is hardly an original analogy: The responsibilities of rulership weighing, like a ball and chain, a virtual cell.. but that's not what we're talking about here, is it? Tell us. Should we be afraid?

" fear is not the path I would personally advise... Unmastered fear leads to Hate, which ultimately leads to the dark side... One must ultimately choose their path yet Do you trust each other enough? can you betray your employer to finally vanquish Insanire? "

Yorik stared into the shadows at the ominous figure. He could see it clearly gazing back at them from the darkness with its orange glowing eyes even though it didn't register any heat signature according to his suit's thermal scanners. Still, that wouldn't make this Force ghost any less dangerous or deadly.

"You won't win, you know... We've come here to stop you and your minions. Every time we meet, we grow stronger while you're the one who must give ground and you'll do so again here. In fact, we now have not one but two more resources that can and will help us stop you. "

"Fear may be your greatest power, Insanire. But, knowledge beats fear every time and we now have both the knowledge and resources of Dr. Anderson and the Leper King to help us defeat you this time. We're now on Korriban and yes it is your prison. But, not in the way that you mean. It will become your final prison just before we end you for good."

" sigh... and I thought you understood where you were Apprentice Yorik, Insanire is coming for me yes, but for now he lies east in a fortress of true horror, follow the path of flesh "

"You're the Leper King?" Yorik lowered Confidence from his shoulder where he was moments from firing...

His voice softened and defensively he asked, "Why would you tease us so and taunt us with such statements of fear? & our employer betrayed us all with his actions along with his knowledge of Insanire and desire to continue using us as bait toward his own ends. There is no betrayal as our contract has been cancelled after Zando himself was dethroned and replaced by a corrupted machine."

" I needed to know, Many have come as close as you have but ultimately chosen to run or join the very darkness they once fought. "

Dr Anderson is looking at you confused

( then the whole room shakes, something very large is on the move)

Edited by April

Yorik made introductions for their mutual benefit, "Dr. Anderson, you are in the temple of the long forgotten Leper King, and his visage sits resting upon the throne at the end of this Great Hall. Leper King, Dr. Anderson here possesses knowledge of some great Intergalactic Intelligence or sentient being that is potentially planning to wipe away all of existence in order to prevent your brother from infecting the rest of the galaxy with his corrupt nature."

Yorik still had his reservations about what was to come but then the entire temple began to tremble and there was no more time for second thoughts.

I don't suppose you know where the Eye of the Broken God is to be found?

There is fear, certainly, but no more unbridled terror. Have we mastered our fears? I suspect we shall soon see. We know the horrors Insanire is capable of, and yet here we are.

As for our employer.. While we may be here, nominally, at his behest.. We are not here to do his bidding. Rather, we are here to do what must be done.

We uncovered intelligence that hinted you might be able to instruct us in certain Force techniques..? I'm a quick study, but I don't think we have the time, now.. When our business here is concluded, perhaps?

Draw up a contract Dr. Anderson.

The ground shakes.

Frell...

He turns as the others address the "throne".

So Mr. Leaper King... Where'd you get a name like that and for what?

Anderson does not have any ability to perceive the force he simply says " Observation: curious "

" Agents of Insanire have already taken the EYE they seek to Negotiate with the machine. You must stop them before they merge. I may be able to teach you "

" I was a Virus consuming a dead host, what name would you have chosen? "

Mr. virus... Mr. Recycler, King Saprophyte the first, decomposer man from planet korriban... he trails off.

you hear a chuckle... it bounces everywhere. "Take the skull, and I will aid you"

Once this would of horrified Durrak. Now it seem pretty normal. He looks for a skull.

he finds it quite easily, as he walked up to the seated figure he saw that it was a statue with a skull placed on top, Durrak removes it with a satisfying pop

King Saprophyte! Nah.. Leper King definitely has more.. pluck to it.. or something.

Astrid approaches the statue, but Durrak.. speaking of pluck.. has already removed the cranium in question.

Sweet!? Now about that aid..?

"We appreciate any wisdom you're willing to share, O great and timeless King," Yorik said cautiously while scanning the room for another means of exit. "If you'll come with us, Dr. Anderson," and he gestured back up the steps along the path that they originally took to find him...

"Let's remove ourselves before what is knocking finds us..."

Agreed, lets haul *** folks...

Aye can you take a quick peak... Carefully...!

Let's see what you have, there, Sunshine ? (quick Xenology check on skull- can Astrid recognize Species?)

And yes- let's get out of here. I am sure the Warren of the Screaming will be much more welcoming...

Sith species, but its abnormal, the bones look almost like they have been drilled into thousands of times.

(Could people make an observation roll?.. 3 purples)

Aye can you take a quick peak... Carefully...!

as soon as you leave the complex the skull announces " rise Guardians of the Green for your master has returned.." The plants writhe and twist the ground bursts with new growth, Insanires minions become entangled...and so a path has opened "your path is clear... forwards to the cathedral of flesh"

Perception Roll.

One threat

With his sensors magnified through his helmet, Yorik noticed the pockmarked skull that Durrak carried and wondered idly if the Leper King consisted of a colony of ants or other insect with some kind of hive mind but focused more on the urgency of the group's need to escape.

Keeping the mood light, he grinned as he scanned for threats along their path, "Hehe SUNSHINE ... That's definitely going to stick, Durrak. Sorry not sorry, amigo... "

A cursory inspection of the skull is only more confounding. Perhaps some radical form of trepanation? An attempt to "cure" the Sith's aberrant behavior?

The Cathedral of Flesh it is, then. Marveling at Korriban's unexpected verdancy, the explorer makes her way toward whatever tomb of horrors awaits them.

"Trepa- what? Yeah Doc, whatever you say... as long as it's not trying to kill us at this very moment I'm fine with it." Yorik grinned as he moved forward along the path. "I'd suggest that Shard play something thematic as we head into the Cathedral of Flesh but I think this time it's either your turn to choose or Dr. B's... What do you say? Something cyber-esque or a classic EDM tune?"

I was thinking something a little more mellow, acoustic even..? Astrid accesses her music files as she continues forward, and makes a selection. Here's a little Love and Warpdrives, going out to Imo Kull:

beep. beep. beep.

Woo-oo hoo-oo. (strings)

You cannot go against nature

Because when you do

Go against nature

It's part of nature too. (percussion)

I wonder what ever happened to my favorite concert shirt, with the speeder bike on it..?

0ur little lives get complicated

It's a simple thing..

Yeah.. It will be a simple thing when I get my *** blasted off, waxing nostalgic about an old T-shirt..

Catching Yorik's pained expression, she relents.

Alright, Yorik. Let the beat drop.

Bring the noise!

Yorik grinned at Astrid and moved forward to take point along the pathway to the Cathedral. If the flora wasn't able to cover any of their enemies along the way, then Yorik allowed the heavy percussive blasts of Confidence to provide the driving rhythms of their progress in synch with one of his music playlists from their time on board the Golden Hind.

"Why don't we start with something classical before transitioning into the more modern styles?" Yorik said distractedly while focused entirely on eliminating any threats that might appear between them and their objective. "No surprises yet..."

(Something more similar to this, however...
