Yorik was frustrated. If their landing was already this well known and easily tracked then who knew what dangers already lurked and what other traps had been placed for them before they even had a chance to get started?

With that, Yorik moved up the path toward the ruined temple of the Leper King and away from the irritation of yet another pompous government agent who withheld too many secrets while teasing others with what they did or didn't know.

It couldn't have been Astrid, it definitely wasn't himself, Durrak was the grim loner type, and Shard wouldn't have anything to do with any government agency. That only left Bennar and/or the message he sent Worra which might have been intercepted or passed along. 50/50 chance, either way. If it was Worra, then this was his way of giving them support. If it was Bennar then it was good to know that he was more than just a bad@$$ medic and vet, he was connected.

Yorik ran through his breathing excercises and focused on what he could control-- which was the group's safety, tactics and strategy for this mission,and his overall situational awareness. It was a good thing that the Republic was aware of their mission and had sent reinforcements to help them. It was just annoying how they chose to reveal said facts. It was a great thing that they'd been given command rank just in case the entire mission went sideways and the Republic military forces did get called in. It was refreshing to know that the Republic might actually care about stopping an evil galactic entity running amok across the systems who was capable of legendary horror and violence. Yep, focus on the positives.

Calm and focused, Yorik moved with purpose into the ruins of the Leper King's temple to find Dr. Anderson and make arrangements with the Leper King.

K... Astrid adds the flare pistol to the growing collection adorning her utility belt. Well.. It's good to know that when this debacle is concluded, and the courts-martial held, no actual Colonels will have been harmed..

Gazing in wonderment at the crumbling spires about them, she follows Yorik into the ruins of what must have once been a vast pyramidal structure. Let our scout take point, there, Colonel Sweetcheeks. Spy-D. Extend your probe antennae, and scout ahead for instability or treachery. Recalling legends of Sith temples, and horror stories passed down from scholars and looters, and scholarly looters .. Astrid proceeds cautiously, deeper into the ruined temple. ( @April Perception check difficulty/setback?)

The Temple complex is very austere, and you get the feeling, it was simply made to contain, not to worship, or honor. While it looks like somebody rigged up some lights you notice that the odd floor gives way to cold indifferent stone. Oddly you see no traps, no, runes and no mosaics, nothing that would indicate who or what is in here.

You get a lot of confusion but you can feel the dark side hammer around like a bubble... its quite distracting

it beeps.. and clambers upwards... basic scans show very little, a domed room which looks like it had some use at one point... the staircase ends as if somebody just stopped construction

(Following the blood trail, can we tell where the blood seemed to have come from? The Domed Room that has been sealed off or from the main floor where we entered?)

the room possibly was used as some kind of solar calendar, but its long covered up, and useless to be such now. you get a feeling the planets you were on might line up with the holes but you would need a accurate chart to know for certain

Yorik made light banter as he swept the room and stairwells for hidden dangers. He knew the droid scouts would observe anything from up above but it was down below that he worried about. He fought off the goosebumps as he had flashbacks of monsters erupting up from the floors below on New Taris. Focus on the here & now... Breathe... Sweep... Focus... Breathe...Sweep...

Whenever possible, Yorik let his senses guide his footsteps either along the stairs or up or down halls and through rooms as the situation called for. He also closely watched the schematics of the map display in his HUD while watching for telltale pings of motion from the enemy or his teammates always careful to keep clear line of sight to each of them just in case they needed instant covering fire.

My studies only touched upon archaeoastronomy, and I leave astrogation to the navicomputers, but.. would those holes correspond to the planets Insanire and Kull were targeting..? Astrid could not be certain, but she suspected the arrangement might portray just such an alignment. Could there be a method to their madness..?

She spares only a few moments with her datapad, to capture images and take measurements.. A line of pursuit to be followed after the successful completion of their mission... She follows Yorik's lead, covering his back as he continues his sweep.

Dr Anderson has no force presence have a blue dice in compensation however, you do distinctly sense something growl up ahead...

Yorik paused in stride, suddenly frozen as a predator that scented its prey up ahead. He crouched and then instinctively triple clicked the mics without saying anything. His old company's usual signal that they'd found their target and for everyone to get combat ready.

Bringing Confidence up to his shoulder for instantaneous fire he prepared himself and brought up his Danger Sense for heightened awareness as he knew they were about to encounter the enemy....

The echoes of growling coming from up ahead in the darkness gave him chills but Yorik was able to direct his companions toward the sound. He knew that he might have to stand his ground and take the incoming hits in order to shield the others from some kind of savage mauling. But, he was resolute and trusted in his armor and reflexes to be able to withstand any initial attack.

(2 additional Defense from Force Foresee in addition to my Berethron Armor defense (1) and shield gauntlet (1)-- just in case something jumps me...)

the creature makes a warning growl... it isn't after you and thus just warns you away

you hear very quietly " Situation; Precarious. New Entities detected... Charging weapon; 12%... Structural damage to frame 32%"

Astrid presses forward. If it's an enemy ahead, let's keep that weapon from charging to capacity..
