Astrid watches as Durrak and Yorik leave Zyi's workshop, presumably to contemplate their navels, or the Force, or whatever it is they are communing with. And though she has tried to ignore it, she is self aware enough to recognize that there is something stirring within her, tugging at the peripheral of her perceptions.. We are changed, all of us, since Tython.. No, before that. I was guided there. Manipulated.. by the living Force..? Should I feel honored.. or violated..?
The scientist pitches her armor and goggle upgrades to Zyi. He is still not quite himself, a bit off-kilter even for Zyi, but immersing himself in his work will help with that.. Sounds like sound advice. I should be getting to it, myself..
Producing her datapad, Astrid finds an abstract on Photoluminescence Spectography, and settles in for some light reading. Trying not to get too bogged down in quantum wells, or the lower-dimensional structures of superlattices.. an experiment using crystalline semiconductors to differentiate vapor patterns catches her attention.. I need to examine these crystals further, before proceeding.
Eschewing the goggles for her pocket loupe, she examines the crystal more closely, grateful for the superior lighting of the workshop. Initially discouraged by the nondescript appearance of the translucent, almost colorless crystal, Astrid focuses on the traces of ore still to be found on its surface. Hmm..
Be right back, Zyi. Deep into his own project, she is not even sure he heard. Three hours later, she returns from the workstation in her stateroom, where she had been visually rummaging through anything she could find concerning force sensitive crystals. Without a control, or any hard data, she could not be certain.. but she might be able to test its properties.
I believe this to be a crystal from Barab I , which would produce an intense heat, if used to power a saber. This could, indeed, be a tremendous boon to us in our fight. Would you help me extract the crystal currently residing in this hilt? I believe it could be successfully calibrated to facilitate my goggle sensor array. The electrical reactions to various contaminants in the atmosphere, would generate distinct optical effects that could be readily seen!

Oh! And see if Durrak or Yorik have a use for this: Astrid produces a purple crystal. I was saving it to place in my crown, when I one day rule this galaxy, but our current needs are more pressing.

Shard has been a busy blur since he became "fully operational".
He can barely register the comments of his friends.
He reaches out and takes the crystal with his eyes stool glued to his work table. (Is this considered a proper workshop according to rules? Also I'm gonna roll for the goo gun... Is there anything i need to roll to build the gas canister attatchment that gives it burn? )

Since everyone appears to be ok physically, Bennar is unsure about what to do with himself. He already made sure the medbay was fully operational and in order. He took some time for himself already to decompress. Now that vision....what could it mean? There will be time to figure that out, in the mean time perhaps he can help Shard build his newest toy. While Bennar is a doctor and not a mechanic or engineer, you need steady hands for all of these jobs so he thinks he could offer some help. Shard, do you want some help with that? Two of us working on it might be able to speed up construction and allow more time for testing it. (Maybe you can get a boost die or treat the roll as skilled assist depending what it is?)

Durrak opens his eyes as he finishes his exercises. The Dark side will consume everyone unless they are careful and keep focused on their task. Perhaps this is what everything in my life has lead up to.

you get this feeling that just as the Sar Agorn is actively Kulls voice away, this Creature seeming to be blocking kull at the source, the voice is nearby.. and you get an image of a tomb with a skeletal figure sitting, in the centre of the room also you get an image with a cybernetic life form huddled behind a stone table ... Grasping a pistol, hiding from some kind of fleshborn creature, sniffing.... If you are to get Anderson to help you... you might need to act quickly.

Who is there? Bennar says into the comms, only to realize that the voice didn't come from there. Oh no, more force ghosts! Wonder what this one has in store for us. I wonder if there's a way for me to communicate with this voice the way that it has communicated with me....

While Zyi starts to tinker with her forcesaber, Astrid heads to the ship's parts locker, and begins digging through backup electrical components for the onboard scanners and sensor array. Hmm.. think I can use this.. but most of these pieces will be too cumbersome for my goggles concept...
Struck with inspiration, she closes the locker, and returns to her own workstation. Pulling up the schematic for her chronoscanner, a faint smile works its way across her face. This might actually work!
Retrieving the fine example of Bardottan craftsmanship, she proceeds to carefully disassemble it.. Frakk!! ..until her precision microtool slips off the tiny fitting, and pierces right through the processor, and into the housing on the other side! Delicately probing the wreckage, she is surprised to find the chemical analysis instrumentation untouched. Letting out a breath, the Archaeologist gently finishes cannibalizing the unit, and makes her way back to Zyi's workshop with her prize.

Shard gets some of the components he needs. he can choose a permanent filter or two temporary ones

Yorik was disturbed by the jumbled vision but knew that he and his companions would move with a purpose to find their contact here on this doomed planet. In fact, moving with a purpose was something that he was certainly familiar with.
As everyone prepped for what might become their Final Mission together, Yorik reached out to Dr. Bennar.
"Excuse me, Doc, but do you think now might be a good time for that booster juice you can provide all of us?"
Astrid careens into the two soldiers, playfully. I see how it is. He used to call me Doc, you know, before you came along with your newfangled designer stims. Speaking of.. I don't usually partake, but if the whole team is juicing, I'm open to the idea. Considering some of the sources I've accepted succor from, medically proven performance enhancement seems fairly benign.
I'm going to check with Griff, see how he's coming with those incendiary rounds. Any luck contacting our Marshal friend?
Yorik grinned at Astrid's playful interjection. "Well, you'll always be my Doc, Doc! & You're right..."
Yorik then paused for a moment's consideration. "So, I guess that means Dr. Bennar will be Dr. B from now on! Either that, or Jamba , or Booster since he's got the Juice! What do you guys think?" he asked with a grin.

Either check's success boosts 1 characteristic of your choice by 1 for an encounter, so the only difference is the amount of strain and likelihood of success. I'll leave @April to decided how long that is before you need a second dose or lose the benefit. If I fail nothing happens as far as strain or anything, unless it's bad enough with failure/threat that @April wants to add strain or a side effect till it wears off. Make sure to be specific for what roll you want as I'd hate to knock anyone out from strain.)

the voice is silent for a long time, so long you start to think something may have happened maybe you were to speak out.. or maybe ignore the silence" is one Cold... the same as another?... I was like Imo, going from host to host... taking... consuming... until I found ...The body I had at the end... he was a cruel man... Delighting in pain, torture, and death... until he lay dying and infected... I saw the evil he had done... and reflected ... Life was important and so i took his lifeless body and Became the leper king.. I tried to be fair... and in the end was betrayed by cruel people... as i lay trapped in the body... i became one with something... but also bound to the shell by various ... Basically how it works is like this the shots will continue to run as long as your adrenalin reflex is happening ( fight or flight) , so you roll 3 yellow suffer the stain and get the boost ... however, you stop to run, attack, or engage in heroics the effect fades.. and you suffer an additional strain with each subsequent dose.
