Alchemical Problems IC RPG thread

By April, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

Yorik are you feeling ok?

Yorik responded, "Hey, Durrak... Thanks for asking. I guess, I'm just distracted by that planet eating monster and a little overwhelmed by what we just experienced. I'll be ok in a little while when things settled down a bit. "

Not sure what you were tapped into back there, but it was... electric ... Not exactly- but when I grabbed your arm, I felt a surge of power- and then it was as though a breaker had tripped, and I was myself again. And don't try to tell me it's just our chemistry... Pretty intense. If that's what was coursing through you, I imagine you might need a bit of recovery time. My system's response to it was," Nope! "

Now where is our True Sith friend? Did she board with us in the chaos? Manage an independent escape? I hope she didn't contrive to truly martyr herself, this time.

Remembering Bennar's query, she holds her lens out at arm's length, extending it in his direction. Yeah. It's special, to be sure. They all are. I'll have a closer look another time.

Spy-D. I'm spent. I need you to be my eyes and ears, while I rest for a few.

Using my sense power to read his emotions.

Yorik smiled tiredly at Astrid, "Yeah, it was definitely chemistry. But, I also heard a voice in my mind and I'm not sure who it may be from. We'll see."

"In the meantime, let's get outfitted, meet our mysterious savior, and then get some rest before we have to meet with Mr. Zando."

Durrak sensed Yorik's thoughts and his emotions kept running from concern to relief. Concern and guilt from feeling like they were abandoning the planet below in order to escape with their lives... To relief that he and his companions were safe but then concern again as they were now onboard a ship being crewed by one of the most notorious pirates in the galaxy and their association with him was bound to cause problems...

Everybody gets any strain, wounds back. also, you have a little time before meeting Zando.

the ship jolts out of hyperspace but zando is not here ... yet.

Astrid jerks awake from her less than comfortable sleeping arrangements, as the vessel lurches out of hyperspace. Still, I do feel better than I did- must have gotten some rest, at least .

Rising, she stretches, and makes her way to the weapons locker to retrieve her gear. This saber may prove to be a powerful asset, but I'm not sure I should be relying on it too much, just yet.

Stashing her holdout blaster, she slips a satchel full of grenades over her other shoulder, and buckles on her lancer. Hopefully I won't be needing any these, for our meeting with Zando... Who am I kidding- I'm sure I'll just be removing my arsenal all over again, before I'm allowed anywhere near him. Him! Is it really going to be him, finally, or just another proxy? How would I even know?

Lastly, she reconnects the knee-cops to her armor, with their saberdart attachments. What? Never seen a lady get ready to go out, before?

( @april what difficulty would you make to craft a personal stealth field?)

Yorik lifted himself to one elbow from the bunk he'd shared and grinned shamelessly at Astrid.

"Femme fatale in every sense of the phrase. There should be a picture of you beside the wiki."

Between his snoring and Shard's horrid gargling/singing of who knew what in the sonic shower right now, it was a wonder that Astrid would be humming a tune and bouncing around with so much energy.

Durrak was still meditating (sleeping upright and crosslegged?) in the same pose he'd adopted when the group had been shown to their crew quarters.

Below him, Bennar was sprawled halfway out of his bunk with the practiced habit of boots off the bed while wearing most of his armor and ammo already on in case things went dicey in a flash again.

Yorik smiled and stretched languidly before letting the moment slip into memory and getting up and armored himself.

(I dont have my books to hand, what will you be using it for?, just the one? )

(im going to say 3 purples and its quite delicate so you will take 2 strain doing it)

zandos ship arrives, its obviously the top of the line... but it's a republic battlecruiser???... strange didn't he say pleasure craft?

" why have they locked weapons ? " asks the captain

Suddenly a bag full of stun grenades seems grossly inadequate. And Yellowhiskers is going to suspect us of bringing this on them...

Astrid braves the sonic, averting her eyes, but determined to interrupt Zyi's song: Trouble.

Approaching the bridge, she addresses the Captain: Not the reception you had anticipated, either, I take it? Fight or flight?

Runs his own private army, huh... Unless this is Zando!? Have they hailed?

Edited by Edgehawk

Yellowhiskers looked at asrid, his eyes narrowing to lines..... " so...zando has asked us to soft dock...Or face being annihilated... Plesant guy Our Employer... "

" not exactly, just written instructions "

He's a charmer, to be sure...

Thank you. For the timely rescue. I'm sure you'll be compensated- we all are, for our efforts- but the sentiment remains. I appreciate it.

Have you met him before?

" Zando? ... I was In his house if that is what you mean ... but to the Individual I do not think anybody has... you May be the first.... "

he shrugs... " when somebody has a gun towards your head... you do as told... "He pulled down his collar to reveal in implanted bomb

( @April its in the edge and age core books its 9 rarity and restricted and its 20000)

Eh buddy shard yells over to the pirate. Why in the frell'n kriff didn't you mention this before?

Let me take a look see.

He goes to examine the collar.

You should let him. He'd be crazy to offer, if he wasn't truly that good at this sort of thing. And he is. That good , I mean.

Astrid's eyes move to the battlecruiser, looming ahead. Increasing doubts are also looming, heavy upon her mind, eating away at her resolve. But I have to know. Zando, though I've never even met him, is the nearest thing I've ever had to a father: always supportive, always had my back, always... elusive. When I was a girl, I inhabited these fantasies, where he really was my father... the stuff of cheap pulp fiction, really.

This meeting has been a long time coming, and I truly feel I owe Zando the benefit-of-the-doubt... I am indebted to him for opportunities beyond my wildest imaginings... but by all accounts, he is unforgiving. I don't want to run away, this time. Not without discovering the why behind these expeditions. I need to grok his true role in these events, before I can continue in his service... or before I can make a clean break. Clean... Riiiight.

I reckon I have to keep this appointment. If any of you are less convinced of its necessity... I still understand, if you think you can... defuse the situation, and make an escape. I can take a shuttle.

" except he wants all of you... like now!"

Well.. He's pretty good, at any rate.. Astrid gives the beeping collar the side-eye.

If none of you fancy your chances, at evading almost certain annihilation.. Let's do this. We might just live through this meeting, after all?

It would be unprecedented, of course, but I'm rooting for us.

Willing her legs to obey her bravado, she leads the way to the hatch.

Yorik stood his ground and confidently replied, "Mr. Zando's employed all of us and put his trust in all of us. The way I see it... we've been worthy of that trust so there's no need to tuck tail and run.

"Each of us has been invaluable in helping him to obtain more information and more artifacts about the Sith than he ever could have without us. More importantly, now that this threat to the galaxy from Lord Insanire has manifested itself we've been the ones to stand against it. "

Edited by Cartergame

Well can't say I look forward to another meeting with Zando, but doesn't look like we'll have much of a choice. Maybe some of my new friends are better acquainted than I am. He might not be as bad as I thought if he was able to pull this lot together.

(ooc: Sorry im going through some Major Renovations and health issues)

THe ship you walk on to is totally automated, Droids just point, or lights illuminate with beeps showing you the way. Any attempt to deviate from the path, is met via heavy blast doors engaging and droids asking you to return the way you came

you arrive outside of a large state room which looks like a certain office you were in before... this time the desk is empty... but a sign asking you to wait is lit...

several beverages are on offer if you want to partake

aftter a few moments, two droidikas unravel and set up flanking positions opposite the doors you entered

a human female emerges from the state room with a data slab, she seems quite attractive, though Astrid gets a very odd feeling of De Ja Vous

" Mr Zando will see you now, A few rules, do not approach or touch unless asked, do not interfere with equipment, do not draw any weapon or attempt to initiate any hack ( with that she looks at shard) failure to agree to these terms will result in immediate redundancy ...

Do you all agree? "

Immediate redundancy.. Astrid helps herself to a glass of water, and tries not to stare at their hostess. I have been here before.. I have seen her before..?
