Alchemical Problems IC RPG thread

After Durrak deftly knocked the saber out of Kul's hand, Yorik whirled again and lunged-- and this time made a devastating stab into Imo Kul... Driving his Force Pike into Kul's chest up to the hilt with both hands... but leaving himself open in the process.

Realizing the grenades would be too much for JSE to handle, he set the droid on patrol again. He then flipped on his collar amp and began to ridicule the Acolyte. "Kul, this day is your last in this body. Though you may escape into another, the remainder of your existence shall be nothing more but a game of lothcat and mouse. You will be on the run for an eternity, while we track you down and kill you over and over again. You will dishonor your name. Your master shall renounce you. Your plans shall never come to pass due to your own incompetence."

Worra knew his words would do little to harass the dark Acolyte, but he hoped his distraction might let Yorik score a blow.

The Sabre flys out of Kulls hand , " Hahaha Children playing a game against A God, of Gods... have you learned nothing you just kill a host...an innocent... "

Bennar runs out with his rifle at the ready. Bind the Sith? That one's on our side? All right, on it! He slings the rifle on his back, grabs his medkit, and races over to begin first aid, trying to look around for her arm a little bit while focusing on keeping the rest of her alive.

(What checks should I make? Perception to find the arm? What difficulty medicine check to keep her steady for now? I assume we need to get back to a proper medbay to attempt to reattach the arm or could I do that now? First check coming up! How does combat work here are we taking formal turns or just going when it would fit in the narrative?)

The Sith nods but says nothing, she ushers those to safety...." You care for Sith why? "

(Just medical 3 purples )..combat is mainly narrative, with the odd damage / strike check

(ok Worra won't make the droid attempt that. Its almost guaranteed to fail. I was just imagining it would carry them up and then just press the button.)

You can certainly do that instead. If you do intend to make boom droid a thing might I suggest raiding Mouse droids are us?

Kull is done for...in his dying moments he grabs Yorik and hisses " Well done you did kill an innocent..."

With his final act he force pushes, Yorik, Durrak,Bennar, the civilians, and the Sith lady each crashing into chairs, plants and signs for 4 strain.

Kull turns into an old Sulustian woman who just chokes and dies.

There is a scream.... it shatters Windows...and shakes the place....in the distance you see a beast charging... looks like the creature you came for is coming....

" Mr Shard.... the ship is here..." Says crumbleberry " I have some very basic inoculation vials set up to guard against this madness... urm... thing yes indeed....I am not sure how effective they will be."

Yorik barely had time to register the guilt he felt upon realizing what he'd done to the old woman. "No.... " He whispered.

"No, Kul! This is on you! All of this! We will find you and we will end you once and for all!" he shouted up into the sky furiously... yet helplessly frustrated while holding the woman's limp body. He realized that he played right into Kul's plans. They all had.

" Kill the...Insect... now... she's wounded..."

Sar pushes past the voice...." Yorik.... Yorik... are you alright ?... The ship is fine... I've managed to repair everything but the holo emitter and the interface between myself and the communication systems... " It is true.. I did try to train the thing that would become Insanire.... However he ultimately killed me and now I exist as this.....trapped in the Force and machine.. it's not bad.. "

" You need to go to Tython find the Ancient One .... it can help you more than I "

*Sar Agorn how could you not tell us that you created this monster? I feel as if you've betrayed us all, somehow...

Why does Imo Kul insist on this madness? This horrific slaughter? What is there to be gained by such... carnage?

Is this all some kind of sick, elaborate ritual?*

Then, that monstrous scream tore Yorik away from the inner turmoil and horror he felt. Replacing it with the urgent need to fight for his and everyone else's survival.

It was time to move. Yorik grabbed the other saber that had been knocked from Kul's, this old woman's, hands and secured it in his pack in case Kul had just switched bodies. Instinctively, he cleaned and sheathed his force pike while assessing their tactical situation and then ran back for Confidence in the middle of the concourse then pointed it toward the source of the scream even while backing away and moving slowly toward the direction of their snares and traps.

"Durrak, thanks for saving my life! Doc, nice shot earlier. I hope you're still on point and TCB (Takin Care o' Business) for the rest of the mission while we deal with this rancor. Frell, that thing sounds big and bad and mean...

"Anybody got eyes on this thing? Shard, are you on the security cams yet? Can you give us a heads up? Griff, I hope you're set up with that cannon of yours... Medic? Thanks for patching up our wounded! You got a name?

"Worra, can you get on the intercoms again and see if there are any survivors in this place left who can fight? Something tells me this is going to take more than just all of us to bring it down..."

(I'm not sure exactly how a Triumph works, in context of a boost/ skilled assist, but I assume it might help somewhat in the reattachment process, later? Otherwise, if it could be used for *anything* triumphant, I would choose to have it keep Kull's host at "death's door."

That does not look like something our new medic will be able to assist with... Medic... Please confirm the kill. Carefully. This creature jumps bodies, so if the host is truly gone, we will just have to face it again. Frack!!

While you deal with the Rancor?! I have the frelling collar! Soften it up for me.

Griff! With me. Astrid hastily turns to Oble's. We have to do this fast, if you want credit for bagging that monster out there. Arriving, she calls out, the time for stealth over:

You know what I'm here for. Entering the seemingly deserted shop, she realizes she is gripping the lancer more tightly than is strictly necessary... Helloooo?

Sweeping her gaze over the collection, she searches for the item Zando sent her to retrieve.

Yorik grinned and said over the comms sarcastically, "Sorry, Doc... I was just referring to you picking up "Shoes" along with the other items we might need for Mr. Z and stealthily dealing with the Miraluka since we know it's still out there and trying not to give too much away in terms of your location and activities... But you're absolutely right. Feel free to stand here in the pool of blood while the deadly monster comes charging at you and I'll go accessory shopping instead. ;)

"& Sorry about losing it with Kul but we were in danger and I reacted instinctively. We know he jumps bodies but we don't know if he takes pain when his host dies... & again, I'm sorry...

"Hey Griff, you a gambler? I've got 100 credits that says I take this beastie down before you! Wait, did this thing just TALK?!?!?"

"Shard, was the rancor supposed to be intelligent? Can we reason with this thing and get it on board if we just bribe it with ice cream???"

( ill ask you this Do you want it to hear what you said? )

Yorik grinned and said, "Yeah, sounds good, Griff!"

... Yes, it can hear me. If this is a Frankenstein monster situation, then I definitely don't want to be the one to harm the monster when we can instead avoid any more... (looks around the pool he's standing in...) bloodshed.

Yorik calls out, "Hey there, big guy! You want some ice cream? What's your favorite flavor? Mine is chocolate! Want us to find some together?"

Setting Confidence to stun just in case, he lowered his weapon and slung it over his shoulder. He could still whip it around if necessary but if this was an actual fight they could avoid then that would be much more preferable to any sort of violence.

Whispering over the comms, "Somebody remind me again, was this rancor here as entertainment because it was pseudo-intelligent?"

Yorik slowly walked toward the massive beast with his arms upraised to show that he meant no harm and was being non-threatening... He then pointed toward the ice cream shop where the creature was standing... and window shopping.

Yes, I think that's it. And I admire your restraint, in leaving its head attached. Are those gems..? No time for a full inspection, but I can at least make sure it's not a more recent knock-off replica.
