Alchemical Problems IC RPG thread

By April, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

Yorik cracked a few jokes trying to lighten the mood of what was quickly becoming a dark and ominous moment.

"They know you? Are we talking in the "Biblical" sense? Or they know you like they used your name to get into the club last night? Or they know you like they know your DNA and can clone body parts for you if things go sideways?"

"Better yet, a more important question might be, "How do you know them, Durrak?" We know you hate the Jedi but I thought your feelings extended the same toward the Sith too? Is that not the case?"

They know me.

You seem a being of few words, and I can respect that- but don't you think this might have been worth sharing with us?

Then, to the others:

The hedonistic self-interest espoused in the Sith philosophy can probably ensure their cooperation, so long as they want this interloper dealt with.

the autodocking sequence initiates and you land with, a slight jump.... Sar simply notes that you have landed.

the scans display very little activity save for Service droids, you note a ship lands quite close to you, but no biengs depart it

(What kind of ship? Do scanners does anything?)

A Sith interceptor think Mauls ship... Oddly it has no weapon systems

Sweet ride!

I wonder if Zando would consider this a Sith artifact...

Hmmm...

He looks over at Astrid and winks.

* BANG BANG BANG *

The Cams outside the door show nothing but

*BANG BANG BANG *

There is a knocking on the hatch.....

"Guess this one falls on me." Yorik answered with a shrug and a resigned grin. It's GO Time.

Sensors fully optimized, he put his helmet on and headed to the hangar bay to lower the door. With weapons and ammo loaded and safety off, he slung them over his shoulders combat style and stood ready to draw them if anything other than their newly expected partner should be knocking at their door.

"Who's that peekin' in my window? Pa-oww, nobody now..." he half sang and half hummed absent-minded to himself as he moved through the Hind and into position. He trusted in his Danger Sense and quick reflexes should whatever they were hunting already be waiting for them all.

Over the comm channels for all to hear, Yorik said respectfully, "Greetings to you, Xirixx. Lady of the True Sith, Apprentice to Lord Venirus..... Defender of The Eastern Fringe..Hand of the True Sith Council" He struggled to recall all of the titles which she had used. Diplomacy wasn't particularly his strong suit but he generally did his best to make a good impression.

He walked toward the lowering bay door and gave a slight bow as well.

Is this a good thing, or a bad thing?

I know, I know... Only a sith deals in absolutes...

At this point I am not sure.

"At this point you know as much as I do. I met this Sith while picking up supplies. Well he sensed my presence and sent for me. He knew a lot about what we were doing and who we were after."

Astrid follows Yorik to the ramp, smiling at his attempt to recall all the self-aggrandizing titles.

He might make a fine Diplomat, yet, if he didn't have the appearance of a one-man army... gunboat diplomacy.

Well met, Lady Xirixx.

Will you show yourself?

Yorik immediately looks up, and to either side, upon clearing the bulkhead ahead of her.

He has trained for this. And he has experience with insectoid species... but I think he is strong enough to see past that.

He pulls out a blaster and aims at the mystery thing. He is crouched behind a consol.

Sithspit!!

Hastily retrieving her "Lancer" and flipping her goggles down, she draws a bead on...

What is that??? Uhh... Spyyyy-D? Check that... sack out for me... pretty please?

Recovering somewhat from the surprise, Astrid forces herself to tear her eyes away, and scan her field of view.

Not what I was expecting. But...

(edit to add):

Belay that, Spidey. Bring me the nearest fire extinguisher!

Realization dawns, and her breath catches in her throat, as she fumbles with her breath mask.

Zyi... They're trying to introduce the Rakghoul Virus into our ship!?

Yorik? Blast it off the ramp?

Taking aim again, herself, trying not to tremble.

realization?!

Durrak gets his Discblade ready. So it seems the Sith are up to their old tricks and I fell for it.

The com barks into life the insect voice seems very angry " Why you kill Imperial Citizens then throw heads without jaws into ship!, You break Blood Oath!!???? "

Lady Xirixx... We have a sack full of gore resting on our own ramp, as we speak.

If this is not your doing, then clearly we are being set at odds, by someone who does not wish for us to work together.

The clicks are slow and purposeful " True Sith do not betray.

The True Sith Code Dictates this

Peace is a Lie, There is only Dominance

Through Dominance, I gain Power

Through Power, there is Honour

Through Honour, there is Order

The Force shall be for those who are Strong. "

"I was promised help and you bring us this body are imply we have betrayed you. I might laugh at this and you. I was promised help in our quest. This being did not die by our hand. You talk of honor and strength. What you are trying to do is neither. It is weak and honor less."

This is what we're "making peace" with?

Durrak is right to question...

Yorik reacted to the sack of heads hitting the ramp and leapt into action as if he'd been shot. He charged off the hangar and under the lift while bringing Confidence up and into firing position in one smooth fluid motion. He scanned the entire area in a 360 degree arc with his index finger hovering just off the trigger ready to fire given an instant's notice.

"Delightful they think the gift is from those pathetic True Sith.. maybe you will kill each other...ooh I get too see.."

The words that spoke in his mind still echoed and oozed like oil sliding down the side of a synthsteel wall. *Unclean. Sar Agorn, that's how that voice feels in my head. This Insanire or Acolyte of his is already on my last nerve. Can you sense anything or anyone?*

Yorik reached out and tried to extend his Danger sense to not only help his reaction speed but in this case, sense the location of the threat in their vicinity.

[OOC: I don't have Force Sense yet but I intend to obtain that after this mission and I'm actively working to "develop" this side of my Force Sense. I do have Force Foresee.]

Followed up with the OPPOSITION...

3eD : 1 failure, 4 threat [3eD=Th, Th/Th, F/Th]
