Dr. Hightower was berthed in the stateroom nearest the Medbay, but he has apparently moved on. I don't see any objections to you claiming it for yourself.

As for Zyi, he probably had a small army of droids doing his bidding. I'd be surprised if he wasn't finished with the ship's repairs, while I was still tiptoeing up to collar the Acklay...

By the way, thanks for not hesitating with that riot blaster. It's good to have a medic with the crew, again- even better to have one who can a acquit himself well in a firefight.

I'd assumed it was how they breached the ship, but essentially a one-way pod, so they escaped in one of our conventional ones.

Didn't really want to research anything further, without logging some rack-time, but we aren't going anywhere like this. Not yet.

Not good. I've uncovered record of a single instance, where a ship was breached by a pod meeting this description... just last year, in fact. Some sort of unknown coral-like substance, ate right through the hull. Apparently it had a disruptive effect on their hyperdrive capability, too. Couldn't make a jump. A timely rescue saved ship and crew. The pod detached of its own volition, and escaped into obscurity, leaving a massive hull breach to contend with.

Which begs the question: If it can detach, why was it left here? And where's my spacesuit?

Astrid sighs. No rest for the weary.

The substance is less like corral and more like a shell of a large crab like creature, with circuitry jammed into place to control the thing, the hyperdrive seems to workk, for now.

Wait.. The follow-up report indicates that the hyperdrive malfunction was more related to the location of the breach, and not the pod itself... Also, in further studies on a molecular-level, traces revealed that the hitchhiker identifies more closely with the Crustacean taxon.

It's obvious what's going on here, to me. Our ship has been letting just about anything jump aboard its Golden Hind , and now it's contracted frakking Space Crabs. Thanks, Bennar.

From what I've seen already, you can jack into anything, but I wouldn't be volunteering for that just yet... Well I upgraded it after the fact... It didn't exactly happen by choice.

Ok, so here's my idea, MedicMan here can sedate this thing, and help cut it off the ship. Astrid you might be able to figure out the xenology of this thng. I'm going to try and slice the control module. Hey any of you forcies get a read on it? Is their something in the shell or is it the shell, is it smart? Maybe you can detatch it yourself or get it to detach?

( @April what our options for checks and difficulties? I was just going to check either through obbles or holonet...)
