the Acklay makes a chattering sound, is startled and several shots hammer into him... He literally wakes up Chitters, then is shot knocking him unconscious.

The collar clamps around him without too much trouble, the beast For now is completely docile.

an Image occurs. You remember tale of an old hermit who became more and more isolated. In the end he became some kind of nightmarish ghost... but shurely that was a story told to stop people wandering off as children to the hills???

Durrak finished his force practice. time to get to the job. He went to the computer panel in his to look up the location of the crew. Once I find them i will join in the hunt.

Observing that Griff has completed the collection of Charlie's remains, Astrid approaches him.

Words fail, times like this... I am sorry for this loss to you, and to the clan. But this hunt is not over. Even if you had shot the Acklay, and were taking its head back to Tatooine, the hunt would not be over. The menace behind these deeds is still out there, even now, plotting further purposeless slaughter.

True retribution is not to be had from this simple creature in the collar. I understand, if you need to return home, now; but come back. For Charlie. If you don't need to return home immediately, we have the means to preserve the remains. We could use you on this hunt.

The next stage of our journey should better prepare us to face these Sith monsters, for when we encounter them next. Better knowledge, better weapons. We have reason to believe there will be an incident on Felucia. Seek us there, if you must take your leave.

And here. Take your credits. Probably should've handed them off to you before trying to skulk my way up to the sleeping Acklay. (hands back pouch with his 1800 credits)

Leaving Griff to his grief for the moment, Astrid comms the Hind : Zyi, Durrak, Unleash the dumpster droid. I'm sending coordinates now. I was just going to ride the Acklay back to the ship, but our new medic got a little trigger-happy... throws Bennar, nearby, a wink. The way this creature is jointed, it should fold up nicely to fit in the 87-RM Collector.

Curious about Worra's unexpected correspondence, Astrid glances back at the pedestal.

"Dumpster droid inbound. Need anything else ?"

Worra cautiously steps to the pedestal. "Someone predicted we would be here," he observes.

Grif refuses the money.... " you know, Jawa live a long time... Each holds many jobs over their lives, Adapting to the sands so to speak.... Ive always been a hunter... Charlie was ... My Sisters eldest, Barely an adult.... Ill be back hunting soon enough, But i doubt ill return to the sands after this.... "

The script is odd, each stroke deeply cut into the paper, " Do not interfere in Hutt business again. There will be no second warning "Marshall" "

Yorik smiled at Worra and clapped him on the shoulder. "Knew I liked you before but now I'm happy to call you friend! Whatever you did to Pell off a hut I'm glad you did it and let me know if I can help next time!"

Do what you need to do. Astrid clasps his shoulder, holds it briefly, then releases it. Let us know if you need anything. And if I ever try to tell you what part of the beast to aim at, again, just hit me. Leaving Griff, she approaches Worra and Yorik.

Dealing with the terrors we've encountered on recent assignments, it might seem easy to respond in a dismissive manner to such a mundane threat. My instincts would be to take this seriously, though. Assuming this has to do with the New Taris debacle, Worra's capacity as a local official may have garnered him the most attention, but this is most likely addressed to us all. Zando still wants us to pursue the Shell Hutt connection, so long as it doesn't interfere with our primary goals. We should proceed cautiously. We should proceed cautiously? Did I really just say that? I'll shut up, now...

Worra glowered at the note. His fist tightened momentarily as he recalled the half-eaten body of Gonothar the Hutt, laying to rot in his own throne.

Worra released the tension in his fist and let out a slow breath. He collected the note, carefully folding it into a pouch on his utility belt. I'd better pass this on to a forensics team and see if they can ID it.

"Whoever wrote this may have taken offense to some of the transmissions I sent for New Taris, but they are also surely interested in our next steps. Astrid, your advice is sound. Let us keep our wits about us."

The next time he has a chance, Worra would like to attempt a check to find a forensics lab to send the note for analysis. Perhaps Knowledge (Outer Rim) or maybe even Negotiation (as you would for tracking down a normal, legal purchase). He'd also like to attempt a streetwise check to ask around through his sources to see if he can figure out who was trying to send the message. Possible? Any difficulty?

Indeed. Hmm... Our "Fridge" unit is arriving, presently. You know... it actually has a pretty comprehensive Xeno-scanner on it, for species identification purposes. If the author of that note left sufficient traces upon it in the process of writing it, the droid may be able to narrow the field of potential suspects, at least? Not sure how the scan would impact further investigation of the note, though...

Fridge. Cold one, please. (series of querying beeps) Astrid sighs. Unload, please. The droid complies, using its grapple arms to gently remove what is left of the case of Ebla. Thank you.

The Droids load the Acalay into the ship and manage to, contain it. with a mix of Intuitive retro fitting turning A suply room into a makeshift Cage for the beastie.

Lord Crumblebery has some Basic injections to protect against what he dubs the "madness Virus" However hes unsure how long they will last without ttesting them in the field..

Griff heads to one of the other Docks to reclaim his ship.

The rancor has decided hes Not That eager to go home and thus Asks to stay for a little while, where he feels safer.

Lastly the Droid Who sees everybody as Squidfaces... well hes left Shard a "present"....( its a box.....)

That would be much better. Astrid nods her agreement, as Worra explains he has a mobile forensics kit at his disposal, on the way.

The scout droids seem to have the Acklay transport under control. Mind if I stick around and observe? I'm interested, professionally, as true archaeology has much in common with forensic science.

The art of my field is sometimes lost in my pursuit of Zando's interests, more relic-hunter than Doctor of Science. Offering Worra a wry smile, she continues: Something tells me your career has taken some unexpected twists, too, of late?

The drone hovers, and a Holoimager ignites... There is a Head Marshall for the outer rim... He looks through his half moon spectacles ...at some forms..."ahhh Acting Marshall Worra is it ? "

I was really trying to let you loose this time!! Good time for you to go blasty blasty to your roboheart's content..."

I should find that sheriff droid, my fault what happened, him being way out of his league...

What's this?

He sees the box.

He picks it up and opens it as he rushes out to grab the remnants of the sheriff droid to fix ( which would be what diff @April ?)

"Marshall," says Worra. "Good to see someone is looking after this rock. No need for the title on my part. I've taken a leave of absence from my official responsibilities in the Allied Planetary Government on New Taris, and have been pursuing several personal investigations, albeit still in the public good."

Worra carefully inserts the note into the scanner cell installed on the forensic droid. The cool air in it hisses as it seals shut, protecting the evidence. "Marshall, we need to know who sent us this message. And why. I think you'd agree we'd both be better off if its the lawmen, not the crime syndicates, who determine the rules of the game out here."

"Well quite... But i have it here under Chancelor Vorkorl.... Friends in high places... I cant refuse this order... neither should you..." he glares ", Bigsby you anylize that thar paper," the drone nods but remains silent

" Well I have to congratulate you you are now a full time Deputy Area Marshall, Under....... OH.....oh..... Gilmogoth the Dunesmasher... Well that should be interesting.... Ill forward this to him too, Your credentials are with Bigsby... You be good to him, ya hear.. He will contact you forthwith...."

Speaking of unexpected career twists... Congrats on your Marshalcy! I'll no doubt be receiving my tenured appointment to the Obroan Institute any moment, now (looks into sky expectantly). In all seriousness, the galaxy needs more officials like you, willing to immerse themselves deep into the fray. You deserve this. More than most, I would reckon. Friends in high places... our Republic Security connection? or Zando, even?

Oh! And it pleases me to learn that Forensic and Archaeological Science are, in application, exactly alike. I spent an entire semester learning the esoteric arts of field archaeology... only to discover that such techniques are... well, archaic . Specialized droids perform such tasks far more efficiently, of course.

( OOC: You know Zando has basically bought you a deanship at one of the smaller but prestigious universities, however its on condition you get his toy back safe)

Worra nods thankfully to Dr. Andunie. "I hadn't intended to take this turn, but its clear that the Republic lacks the tools it needs to enforce the law. I'm happy to be part of that effort."

Worra checked his Republic Registration ID and was pleased to find that it was already updated with the new title and a tiny gold star next to his name. Its the little things, he thought.

Durrak happens to walk by when the whipped cream box opens. He stops and stares for a minute and then shrugs and goes on his way.

Wow, congrats Worra! Always nice to get a little recognition for your work every now and then, right?

Returning to the Hind , Astrid catches Durrak in the passageway, on the way to her stateroom. Hey... That was pretty intense out there, earlier. So.. The Acolyte either hails from your homeworld, or knows enough to want you to believe that... We can debrief later, but if you can think of anything: local history, legends, cults... any information we might be able to use in this fight, would be most welcome. We already know more than we did, coming here... Anyway, I'm off to shower, while we're still hooked up.

Shedding herself of the varied accoutrements of her trade, Astrid strips down and steps into the shower. Not reflecting upon the events of the day, or the statue in the hold, or their next steps; just appreciating the fresh water coursing over her body, rinsing away the blood and the sour stench of sweat and fear. Yes. I'd take up dancing for a Hutt, just to enjoy amenities like this yacht has to offer, at the end of each day. Beats the sonics on that last junker Zando had me clunking around the Outer Rim in... Her smile fades, as she sees the face of the old woman, possessed of Kull. That one was on us. And I fired the first shot. We will not permit him to escape again.

Stepping from the shower, she towels herself off, and slips into a tunic and cropped trousers combo for the flight. Now about that statue... Astrid takes the time to buckle on her lancer. I might be in my comfies, but I'm not getting too comfy, 'til we're out of here.

Sliding down the ladder and heading aft, Astrid arrives at the hold to inspect the statue. Well hello there, again, Blue-eyes. What story do you have to tell me? Adjusting the lighting, and trying to ignore the noisome breathing of the nearby Acklay, she conducts a thorough inspection of the piece. Cross-referencing the details now in front of her with the notes on her datapad, she retreats to the holo in her room to consult the archaeological archives at her disposal.

Description Museum Worthy on statue for Zando
Results 3eA+1eP+2eB+3eD : 1 failure, 3 advantage [3eA=A, S, A/A] [1eP=A/A] [2eB=-, -] [3eD=F, Th, F/Th]

Archives are showing me no love... This has to be it? Frakking thing was labeled, unless I've been set up... Realizing the write-up on this piece was going to take significantly longer than she'd hoped, Astrid procrastinates digging deeper into the lore of the Sith relic. (can I use the 3 advantage to conduct further research (Knowledge:Lore) on the item while we're under way, or from a library? @April )

Frustrated, Astrid exits her quarters and heads for the lounge.
