Ghost Phantom and TLT

By redviperofdorne, in X-Wing Rules Questions

Sorry I know there's tons of post on this, but I couldn't easily find my answer.

First is this correct: to do the TLT double tap, the TLT is equipped to the Ghost, not the Phantom, so when the Phantom deploys, it doesn't take the TLT with it?

Second, will the Phantom auto deploy when the Ghost is destroyed, or if you don't get it out that round, does it blows up also?

1. Phantom dose not take the TLT. It would only have TLT if you have equipped it to the phantom as well.

2. the shuttle would deploy with one hull damage already on it.

Where is this damage coming from? A docked ship deploys when the ship carrying it is destroyed. I can't find anything in the rules about damage to the docked ship being deployed.

Quote from the rules section on "Docked Ships" ...

"If the carrier ship is destroyed (but has not fled the battlefield), before it is removed from the play area, each docked ship receives 1 facedown Damage card and must immediately DEPLOY. Ships deployed in this fashion cannot attack until the following round."

Worth noting that if the Phantom is deployed because the Ghost is destroyed, it cannot fire that round.

That Wiki page is not a rule book, and it does not cite the source. I'm still looking for the actual rule source. Is it in a supplement sheet from an expansion? I've been through the FAQ three times, and there's nothing for docked ships or deploying ships or carrier ships in the Rules Reference.

Page three of the rules for the VCX-100.

If you have one, go read the rules page that came with the ghost. Or the Giza to. Both should have rules for docked ships

The source is the documentation that comes w/ the VCX-100 expansion explaining docked ships. I looked at it when I typed the quote. The wiki link was merely for reference.

That Wiki is usually dead accurate with the rulebooks, so...

This is very annoying. I've had issues with this more than once with people running the Ghost who didn't know the rule and the VCX insert isn't readily available online like the base rules and FAQ. I wish they would just add this to the FAQ so it's easier to find for people.

FFG used to put all of the rules that showed up in rule cards and inserts into the FAQ. I think they stopped at about the time that the Force Awakens core set was released and rules got moved into the RRG. The RRG really needs to be getting quarterly updates. It's starting to diverge significantly from the game that gets played when using the FAQ.

FAQ or RRG, either one would be fine but currently it's in neither.

Agreed. I don't know what the difficulty is of putting up PDF versions of the printed material they publish with their expansions. They should be available in their support downloads. It's not like this kind of thing is new.

The damage is only applied if the Attack Shuttle is deployed due to the destruction of the VCX-100. The Attack Shuttle may be deployed before the VCX-100 is destroyed, would not receive a damage card in that deployment and would be able to attack during that turn. If the Attack Shuttle deploys before the VCX-100 is destroyed, the VCX-100 loses the ability to fire its primary attack out of the rear arc and loses the end of combat phase bonus turret attack ability.
