there are a couple of Bespin maps that could be useable as well. I really haven't looked at the JABREALM maps at all, I just remember there was one that was wide open shooting space and no hallways at all to speak of and a weird one where you teleport to the Rancor pit? or something

The one where you can drop to the Rancor pit is Jabba's map. I haven't actually played it but I will say I like that it's symmetrical. I hate the unevenness of Obi's map.
Edited by brettpkellyI like the look of the map and I think it is a contender as I mentioned. I haven't played the map either yet, but I think rangers have a slight advantage here too.
There is no cover between the door side of both deployment zones. Imagine 2 cheap units in the spaces next to the space containing the door, to open the door and block LOS, with rangers next/behind them. I would not open my door if I was facing that, as the rangers can kill almost anything in your start zone if you do open your door. This limits you not only reaching the objectives in the upper part of the map on turn 1 (which the ranger player has access to easily) it also forces you down the bottom of your deployment zone, making you more predictable. Especially the red deployment zone where that region is also a massive choke point.
So while I like the map overall, this looks like a small issue. I would be interested to hear if anyone already played it like that and what their experience is with the map.
I kind of line that there is a space for brawls to happen right off the bat in round 1. Corruscant landfill is the most sniper friendly map in the rotation right now and idon't think jabbas map is any worse. There are a couple of ways to counterplay snipers here: you don't have to put anyone in line of sight of the door, the rancor pit trap is close enough to dive in before anyone gets a shot off on you, the deployment zones are close enough that a brawler list can close the gap and start wailing on the snipers in Rd 2.
I kinda wish they would slow the rotation some, and perhaps go to four legal maps at a time -- you could go to a double-sided mat and change two at a time with a slower rotation, putting both more maps in play and encouraging more purchases of the mats.

Love this idea. I think they would be worth the price.
Less maps would mean missions get replayed during a big tournament.
Nevermind, read it wrong.

I'm not sure there will be a rotation change until at least after worlds. The current rotation has only been around for a month of the regional season. It seems outright silly to have a map rotation to barely see any regional/SC levels of play.
i think we'll see a new map rotation maybe before the store championship season kicks in post worlds.
