Star Wars force and destiny first time

By tkhartzel, in Star Wars: Force and Destiny RPG

I just started playing this games with family and friends last Saturday, Once we complete the Beginner Adventure for Edge of the Empire, the group decided they wanted to be Jedi. What would be some great resources for me and does the core book or adventures come with maps like the beginner game. Also what adversary decks would be good if any. I am a first time Game Master I would also like some tips and tricks if anyone has any. Thanks in advance!

First, it depends on setting. Do you want to play in the (default) Rebellion Era setting, where the players would be a group of Force-users, some of whom might have some sort of ties to, or at least interest in, the failed Jedi Order? Or do you mean a group of lightsaber wielding Jedi Padawans/Knights who keep peace and justice in the galaxy during some other era?

There are resources available, and the Core rulebook can support any stripe of Force user type characters (including Jedi), but if your group actually wants to play as "Jedi" then you'll have to put in a little extra effort reskinning some statblocks to match whatever era they are wanting to play in (for example, stormtroopers and TIE fighters don't exist in the KotOR setting, but you can still use the statblocks just fine and call them something different).

The Core book doesn't have maps to play on, if that's what you mean.

I don't use Adversary decks, just a notebook, so I wouldn't be able to help much in that regard :)

But if you're a first time gamer, I might suggest you listen to a live-play of this game. Potelbat YALP had a couple of those, The Beginniner Game and The Clanker Trail. They're both set in Age of Rebellion, but they give you an idea for how the game flows. The Order 66 Podcast guys also put a few live plays together, like The Celebrity Game.

You have happened upon this forum, which may be the greatest resource for this game. I would recommend the FaD core book, since it seems Jedi will figure prominently in your campaign, and the beginner set will provide more dice and an adventure/ map (which will also work with the bonus pdf adventure). When first learning the mechanics, I availed myself of some youtube tutorials from a fellow called runeslinger.

Yeah, then just getting the feel right for the setting is probably what you want to focus on. The Rebels cartoon is great for this, since two of the main characters are Force users, so you get to see how people react to them.
