Painting Daqan Lords army

By Hos, in Runewars Miniatures Game

They're gonna be metal colored, with a bit of something on the shield maybe. I'm keepin' it simple!

Check out Army Painter spray paints, with matching dropper bottle paints for touch-ups. They have a nice silver and a great Plate Mail can.

like others I'm thinking going black and white ala Teutonic Order or 40k Black Templars

or red and white for Order of St John

I thought about red, but my undead will be red and dark grey, so I'm doing yellow and purple Daqan for good contrast

This thread has actually got me thinking about doing the Daqan Lords in a different scheme than the standard. I'm thinking of going with my alma mater and doing navy blue and white for BYU colors. Maybe I'll even put a white "Y" on the shields instead of the crown.

Okay, so I'm very unlikely to go through with this, but it's fun to consider. The point about being able to tell your army apart from someone else is definitely a good point, though I imagine the unique methods of each painter will make it as easy to tell figures apart as it is to tell handwriting apart.

#GoHawks for my Daqan units!

I'm gonna paint them pretty much how they appear on their unit cards.

Huh... that sounded a lot more exciting in my head, but maybe that's because I usually do the whole "I'm gonna write a five page fanfic about my commander and then paint battle honours for each individual battle that I will also right fanfic about" thing.

I'm going to right a fanfic about me painting my miniatures...they are going to be the best...the end :drops unpainted grey minis on the table:

Finally a fanfic I can believe.

That'll look great with the silver armor. #GoHawks

That's mixing a bit of #TruetotheBlue in with the #GoHawks I like it!

I'm thinking about doing a dark colour scheme, dark blue and purple or black (perhaps for the metal?) kind of like a "evil colour scheme".

For the humans or Undead? The humans would be easy to do with a high quality black matte primer for the armor. Edged in brass or bronze is a nice option on the armor, with purple for regal cloth and skin color of our choice.

The games workshop paint Eshen Grey is amazing for highlighting black. They also have a gloss version of Nuln Oil wash. You could make the armor look really sharp with it after dull-coating the other parts of the finished model with a spray.

Thanks for the advice and yes I was talking about the humans.
