Character Progression

By Col. Orange, in Rogue Trader

Hi all,

Me and mine are new to the game (2nd session was yesterday), but there's already been a couple of interresting questions (and no Errata or FAQ to check). But for now, can anyone here tell me:

Can you continue to buy Rank 1 stuff when you advance to Rank 2 (I told them I assumed they could).

Voidmasters... Is there a misprint with their Sound Constitution, only it seems a little all over the place?

Thanks,

R.

You assumed correctly happy.gif

As for the Sound constitution talents, it does seem a little off. Adding up everyone's rank 2 careers produces wildly different results, Void Master being at the lower end of them so those two SC probably should be upgraded to *2

I don't think there is a misprint in the sound constitution-multiplier for the voidmaster. As long as there isn't an erate you should keep those numbers in the rulebook as they are. Of course you can make it a house-rule that a voidmaster gets a x2 multiplier every rank, if you like, but that won't be that much of a difference if you ask me.

Ah, I was assuming the Sound Constitution talent worked like skills - that just as trying to buy Dodge when you already had Dodge as a Trained Skill wouldn't get you Dodge +10, buying SC x1 when you already had SC x1 didn't get you two extra wounds. From what you guys are saying, it would. Interresting (I'm sure my players will be relieved).

Yes, it would, as each SC is a seperate talant. It specifically states you can buy multiples of it in it's rules. The x2/x3/x4/etc shows how many times you can purchase it from that one selection.
