Take care if your in the path or close, I know there's nothing we can do to help but we will still be thinking of you all.

I'm a manager at a hospital in central Florida and I'm trying to balance the demands of home/family with my obligation to the hospital. It's just a little bit stressful right now.

I wasn't being a troll, but I did go over the line into full jack-hole mode. I'm more than a little irritated right now with people with entitlement issues as I prepare for Irma's approach.

That sounds suspiciously like an apology where none is necessary. We can have differing views and still be friends. Ghosts Of Dathomire protect you and yours as you prepare. May the force be with you.

It is important to be reminded that there are much more serious matters in the world than when a book will or won't be out.

Oh Don't sound so sad that we can agree to disagree... or is it disagree to agree... I'm confused... what were we talking about again? ?

Hey guys! Just thought I'd pop in here and drop some intel.

Spoke to an Asmodee/FFG rep at a trade show recently, and the apparent halt in book printing is due to several factories shutting down and them having to reopen/rebuild them and build some new ones. The rep also said that the rebuilding process is either done or almost done so things should be back on track soon.

Thanks for the information friend!

You were both trying to calculate the airspeed velocity of a fully armed and armoured stormtrooper being shot out of a catapult.

Was that a core world or mid-rim Stormtrooper?

As much as I am anticipating the release of Cyphers and Masks... I'm a bit disappointed that it appears to have cut in line to get ahead of Fully Operational...

I really really really want to get my hands on the ship building rules, and shipwright spec,... I'd really like to build a speed 4 "corvette" with detachable hyperspace capable sil 3 shuttle, and fluff it as a retrofitted/redesigned consular class cruiser (I like the way they looked, have the wotc mini, and a deck plan from colonial chrome printed at just below mini's scale printed on ten 11 x 17 inch sheets high gauge paper, the one just below card stock and I can have all 4 decks on my "that's not a coffee table, that's a dinner table for hobbits" coffee table

I have to agree completely. I finally broke down and sent an email requesting info. I figure the more ppl asking the more likely they will get it moving. I had thought we might see movement when ghosts had a move but alas I was wrong.

My character is planning on taking 2 ad1s modular fighters and cutting one wing off each on the opposite sides and welding the fuselages together then making a custom cargo pod that fits like a glove to fill in underneath the wings... along with a number of other improvements of course.

Then find an ancient derelict defender class light corvette and rebuild it to have as his home workshop... what can i say, I like the looks of them.

Yeah, I’m really surprised by that as well and I second that email suggestion. My cynical brother said “well why not write a letter than” sarcastically, as if it was a bad idea... but ****, at this point they need to know what fans want.

Let us know if you hear something.

So you can't even fully quote Empire Strikes Back here.

Same boat here. Been looking forward to this book since they announced it.

Yeah many of my favorite of my PCs in Star Wars and other settings would be Shipwright/<insert other spec or specs here> hybrids if converted to the FFG Star Wars system. (Commodore, Ace Pilot or some Smuggler spec being the most common other specs) I prefer frigates to corvettes though.

Shipwright/rigger and maybe modder would be pretty over the top I'm thinking it might let you have a star destroyer as your signature vehicle (ISD's are sil 9, right) being the chief engineer.

So sent an email to customer service last week and go a great reply from Zach.

A total non answer 'go to the updates page and the news page' to paraphrase.

I replied saying thanks but no thanks, we are looking for real answers on where this book is and what's going on with it. Again paraphrased.

Anyone want to +1 this statement? 9 months in development is more than enough!

Nah. I'm good with it being released when it's properly done. What good is pressuring people going to do.

Maybe if they get pressure to release sooner they won't nerf what some playtesters might have considered to be over powered starship construction rules? Just a hypothetical answer to your rhetorical question.

But I was asking for good outcomes.

Did you find the crafting rules overpowered while you playtested it?

Don't worry I'm not expecting an answer...

Anyway I'm pretty sure they've finished the book after 228 days of working on it. I don't know what they are waiting on but since books usually take less than 3 months in development and it's had over 3 times that it must be the best dang book they have done do date.

Lots of stuff can go wrong during development. Anything from cash flow problems to writers turning in late or unusable work or personal health issues of the people guiding the book along.

It actually takes around a year to develop a book, or longer. Announcement is normally close to the end of development.

True... but usually when issues like those happen a company passes the work off and it still gets done. So as much as those reasons could account for some time delay I don't think they are realistic reasons in this case.

I am sure that the issues that plagued ghosts had something to do with fo's delay as well but again one could reasonably expect that not to be the whole issue.

Even with the issues of ghosts you could almost expect all 3 books to be at the printers already ( FO, cnm, and maybe even dawn )
