Crap, hadn't thought about the addons. I wonder how much and how many hard points a
superlaser
asteroid mining system will cost me?
Then again, installing mods costs me 50% off the list price! Sweet!

Maybe, but perhaps that's another reason to give it to Engineers. Give them a spec with a little more independence

And for 50,000 credits you can buy a space station has homestead iirc.

Just place a few charges around the battlefield and you have plenty of independence (and silence) for your engineer. Especially when you don't have any talents to protect the party from the blast.
Our scientist is starting actually to build bomb bots, charges attached, hugging nightmares from droid hell.
New article, with the third specialization: https://www.fantasyflightgames.com/en/news/2017/6/19/man-and-machine/
Yay! Droid Specialist looks cool. Skakoans is an interesting and frankly obvious addition in hindsight due to the AoR history of separatist characters.

I was surprised at first that they did a whole new droid-related spec, but I guess part of the idea is to offer some stacking options for droid-focused PCs, kind of like how you can take Medic and Doctor for some good synergy and double-dipping on talents.
I definitely like the doubled up spec options. It's easy to stack combat or social specs because there are a lot of options to work with, but some of the more specialized stuff is pretty tough if you want to focus in one area (especially for a non-force user character). Being able to stack Droid Specialist with Droid Tech gives a lot of depth in that area, just like combining Demolitionist and Saboteur, or Rigger and Modder, or even Pilot and Hotshot. Having both options will also be nice if some likes the idea but the specifics of one tree don't appeal to them; they've got a choice now.
Actually, what we got here seems to be extremely awesome for droid characters themselves. I don't see a restriction against applying those droid buffs to yourself.

Having not seen the whole spec, I'd be tempted to allow it on the same basis as performing Medicine or Repair on yourself - +2 Difficulty.

There may also be more details in the full descriptions of the talents that specify it only applies to others cannot be used on oneself.
We are after all only seeing a snapshot of what the talents can do.
So the article suggests Fully Operational will be "Arriving soon at your favorite local retailer", yet the upcoming page indicates this book is still in development, let alone on the boat. I wonder when we will actually see it?

The engineers have been working around the clock, and have developed an amazing new technology that will allow Fully Operational to skip all that tedious "ocean shipping" business, and be transported directly to retailers.
(Just wait until you see how they get the spy book out!)

Regardless of what the article says, I'm betting we see the book for sale at GenCon with the official release somewhere between two and six weeks later.
I am very much looking forward to the new rules for creating explosives from compounds, plus all the fun new explosives!
More things for my Demolitionist to use to make da KABOOM!
you guys really think the book wont be on the shelves until the end of the year? 4ish more months of waiting?

If they have this available by GenCon do you think they can resist demonstrating how the shipbuilding rules work?
Practical demonstrations and then seeing their new creations used in a game would be quite a draw wouldn't it?

Have you pre-ordered Ghosts of Dathomir too? Because that's almost exactly when I'm thinking Ghosts is going to be released. And Fully Operational is still showing as being In Development, which means that it hasn't even been printed yet. That's...assuming they didn't forget to hit the button to change its status, which I doubt they'd forget, we're looking at early October at the earliest for FO to be out.

I haven't sorry to say. I am GMing an AoR campaign and play in a EotE game...too many books already! I will leave those books for the next campaign
Guess someone found the Dathomir Container, a lot of kerosene readily avaible and just wanted to see a world burn.
Edited by SEApocalypseWhen do you think the book will be up for pre-order?

It already is on CoolStuff Inc.
So now that we have specs, what ships do you think we'll get? Have the GR-75 Medium Transport or the U-Wing made it in any books yet?
The GR-75 is in the Edge of the Empire core rule-book, but I don't think that any of the books out now have U-wing stats.
Maybe in the Fully operational book?
If you can use it to build ships maybe it can be built provided no one's already tried?
