Does a Tagge TRC Work?

By Admiral Sylva, in Star Wars: Armada Fleet Builds

SO firstly I should mention I have been away from Armada for a good while and have only recently returned into the fold and am now reading up and learning about waves 3/4 and 5 so I apologise if I'm going over previously trodden ground.

However I am falling in love with the Arquitens and I want to combine it with my love for a pack of TRC90's so I came up with this...

399/400 Points - TRCuitens

Command Class Arquitens - General Tagge, Captain Needa, Medical Team, Reinforced Blast Doors, TRC, Hand of Justice - 103 points

Light Cruiser Arquitens - Reinforced Blast Doors, TRC - 66 points

Light Cruiser Arquitens - Reinforced Blast Doors, TRC - 66 points

Light Cruiser Arquitens - Reinforced Blast Doors, TRC - 66 points

Light Cruiser Arquitens - Reinforced Blast Doors, TRC - 66 points

4 x Tie Fighters - 32 points

My thoughts were that Tagge would allow you to play fast and lose with spending/ exhausting your evade to maximise your damage output whilst reinforced blast doors would mitigate the extra damage you may take for not using your evade defensively.

Squadrons feel a little lackluster but not sure what else to do with so few points.

Would love to hear some thoughts/ suggestions. Is this a viable tactic? Has anyone already tried it or something similar?

I've put Needa/TRC on Devastator under Tagge to give me fine control over defense vs offense on the ship. It worked pretty well for me, you just have to be careful with your activation order to not move that ship whose evade you just burned off into danger right before you get the evade back. Thing is, late round 2 you're probably just moving into red range, which is where you most want your evade defensively, and then you get it back in 3 when you're most likely moving into medium/close and losing its advantage anyway, so.. eh. It's not that it's a bad plan, you just have to be careful with pacing engagement tempo.
