Somebody got canned over the FCT/XX-9 example mistake, the Foresight-evading-twice mistake, etc...

You should apply, and inform them that their policy of requiring employees be at their MN location is ...... dumb and circa pre-2000s.

I've already had a previous conversation with them - and in their view, it is paramount for Secrecy and Confidentiality.

Do they keep you locked in a Faraday Cage?
Buggered if I know. I can only report what I was told.
Surely you can get access to the US if its to be locked away?
Maybe if they kept you a secret from ICE you could work for them. Ask them to pay you with minis which you sell off in the underground market of custom paint jobs behind the dumpster at FFG HQ. You could have the real American dream!
In case anyone is actually curious, I'm fairly certain this is Evan Johnson's position. He's an active player in the AGoT community and made a post the other day saying he was moving up to a Marketing Manager position.

Hey guys, I figured out why GOT gets so many articles. ![]()
Dras for article writer 2017.
Key word is marketing. Lets face it Armada is not the newest game hot off the press. That would be Runebound and Star Wars Destiny. Also it isn't as popular as games like X-wing, Eldritch Horror, Netrunner ect, Although it is getting there.
Either way I doubt if any of you get that position will be writing much about Armada at all and not just writing about what new release or event FFG needs to promote. But for those who need Armada discussion here is a good channel.

While I understand the requirement of US-residency (paperwork and legal thing - it is *much* easier for an American company to pay US residents - taxes etc), that a writer would have to be physically located in MN is just silly.
When SeekingAlpha.com posted positions for full-time writers, the only requirements were that you be 1) Qualified and 2) A legal US resident. I mean, a write-up can be emailed just as easily from home than it can be from the office, so....
When a company says a job that can be completely done remotely must be done in the the local office they really mean they want to micromanage your work. ![]()

I could understand, "Must be willing to live in MN for the first six months".
That makes sense. Get to know everyone etc. But come on, they can just play game on vassal with their colleagues like the rest of us.
I feel like FFGs hiring policy is why they are not able to produce articles, FAQs, answer emails, and other customer service/content as well as other companies. Seems like they are shooting themselves in the foot. Just make everyone sign an NDA and be on your way. If someone wanted to leak info, you can do it in MN just as easily as any other wifi blessed country.
Maybe the FFG offices don't have WiFi and they have to drive in a company van to the next county over and borrow a Starbucks' connection to post articles.
Would also explain the lack of articles.
This is a great opportunity, I'm ineligible because:
1. Don't live in the US; and,
2. Don't do Facebook
I actually think the biggest issue with FFG s that they still think they are this small 'out of the garage' operation. Their reach is huge and supporter base is massive. I don't think there are many companies with so many people that support them like the FFG base does.
So go right ahead and congratulate yourself for supporting this great company with most excellent content. They are successful because we want them to be.
Yeah, some times it is just easier when the guy is just down the hall. Now just hiring locally without offering relocation is silly. Also, with the US economy the way it is, they can demand this and get many applicants, sadly. I mean it is MN after all.....
I'm guessing that a core rule is that anyone who may have access to Star Wars has to be on site for control to confidential documents, new ships and characters, etc. Prior to The Force Awakens release, the script was kept in a private room in a sealed safe and had to be physically pulled out to be read by the actors and directors in person. Disney probably has FFG do something similar with new toys and designs and artwork that have to be prepared months in advance. Now that FFG creates rules for a number of different game systems that could incorporate the new characters, there is probably a basic master list of characters explaining how each one fits into a role. This could lead to massive spoilers of upcoming films and stories.
For example, FFG was probably aware early on that Finn was *not* going to be a Jedi or even Force sensitive, despite wielding a lightsaber in his first promo shots.

I thought he was implied to be force sensitive??

That movie was really weird. I really hated that line where he said he was Sanitation dept. Total buzzkill.
And actually blowing up an even bigger Death star looking thing.

Let's build a wall and make... Well, you get the idea!
I am just happy Armada continues to grow in popularity. It is far superior, in my opinion cause I love big ships, to X-Wing and every game we play at our LGS has people staring and asking what game we are playing.
