I don't agree. At zero points for a double tap attack, its brutal and undercosted.

Well, this stirred up quite a storm... Ban was a very touchy word with quite a few people and make great again was not a wise wording.
A few curious questions:
Does anyone but me wish that there was a squad of generics that was competative (apart from 4xTlt-Ys) and that felt a warm fuzzy feeling when seeing the 2B/2Z95/Stresshog list the other day?
Does anyone but me wish from time to time that the barrel roll/boost combo perhaps should not be done quite so often?
Does anyone but me sometimes feel that when moving the stack of tokens attached to a ship feels almost like being at a casino?
How would this great game be even more fun to you?

Straight out my head, as it was my good buddy flying it. Hopefully I didnt miss anything.
IMPERIAL ULTRA ALPHA STRIKE
Colonel Vessery, A score to settle, tie/D, tractor Beam (Ion engines?)
Countess Ryad, Predator, Tie/D, Ion Cannon, (Ion engines?)
Cheapest Tie Bomber, homing missiles, extra munitions, Long range scanners
Can you see the masterplan here? bomber Locks the primary target. The same targeg gets "A debt to pay".
Vessery shoots tractor, TL+score to settle/focus, hoping for lowering agility
Vessery shoots primary, TL+score to settle/maybe focus,
Countess shoots Ion, she has 1-2 rerolls and focus
Countess shoots primary, reroll again
If the target is still alive, bomber is finishing it with well placed homing missile with TL for rerolls and focus (bomber is often flying behind the defenders - harder to avoid his missiles plus he lives longer).

That is correct. I kind of wish they tweak the X7 cost to -1 or zero. It would still be incredibly strong, but Tie/D could use some more table time. And Tie/D being overpowered in attack also means Defenders are less "unkillable"for 2-dice attack ships..

And they have the largest number of redhead players, and therefore soulless.
If we are going to generalize, we should do it properly, as all the swedes do...

I apologise. That was unappriopriate and not true.
All caused by "single tournament effect". I have heard so much imperial whining after Yavin open (zero imperials in top8), and then, just a week later, on Lothal Open, we had 4 or 5 imperial lists in TOP8. not that far, geographically speaking (Uk - Germany). One turnament is simply not enough to deduct general rules about the state of the meta.

Good job it's not zero points then, isn't it? First you've got the 2 point opportunity cost for not taking x7, then you've got to buy a cannon.
So, minimum 3 points (Tractor Beam), maximum 5 points (Ion Cannon).

/D title is zero points. By selecting it over /7 does not equal 2 points. (/7 at -2 points btw is a joke, compare it to Chaardan it is laughably imbalanced). And the double tap in my experience more than makes up for the freebie evade.

I'm pretty sure 3 x7 glaives would be competitive ![]()
Banning isnt the answer.
If be open to tournaments rotating in and out certain ships, imo this would make list building more challenging. heres how. you could select a list of ships or upgrades that all tournament players had to build from or select a ship type they HAD to include in their list for each faction just fr that specific tournament. what about have an escalation sort of set up where u can add an upgrade each round that costs 2pts pr less?

Comparing it to Chardaan is irrelevant - the worth of a card designed to fix a ship's base cost is only measurable in how overpriced the ship was initially. The Defender was more than two points overpriced, so /x7 is worth more than two points.
The problem is that it's worth SO MUCH more than two points, that it's meta warping.

Each of us has a cross to bear, I guess! (swiss redhead though... I feel your pain dude!)
Simple people who constantly complain about the state of the game.

Crackshot Black squadrons.
XX-23 Blount Homing Missle Z95 swarms.
Snapshot A-Wings.
Five. Cartel. Marauders.
The game is fine. Every card is fine.
I just can't wrap my head around these topics.
Every card, ship, pilot and list has a counter.
Why do people insist on dumbing things down and watering out the challenging parts?

Outrageous!
But that's nothing.
3 points, 3 miserable points for:
- +4 PS
- EPT slot
- Up to +2 green dice in defense.
For only 3 points!
Oh boy, Sarco Plank is the absolutely worst!
Well, not in a quadjumper, because this pilot skill in this ship makes perfect sense, but if you value his skill in the vacuum...

I'm missing something here. What's the point of bringing up the quadjumper?
2 hours ago, FTS Gecko said:...so, only half then? Could be worse. I imagine the number of TIE Defender lists taking x7 is MUCH higher. And the number of Soontir Fels taking Push the Limit and Autothrusters is probably 100%.
Yes, the number of Defenders taking x7 was around 99.9%, however they contribute 51% of all Imperial ships in the sample, nerfing them first might simply annihilate the Imperial table presence for a good while.
I trust that Scum would easily overcome a attanni or even a Jumpmaster nerf and still go toe to toe with x7 Defenders. Which would remain my next target for a nerf.
As for Fel: who cares what he is equipped with, in the sample he was picked 0 times.

Soontir Fell, the first X-wing hipster: flying with 3 tokens (plus stealth and palpatine dice change) before it was cool!
This premise assumes that the game could be fixed by the banning or removal of certain negative elements. To some degree, the game could certainly be improved by removing some especially problematic things. But a serious and robust fix would require altering certain existing elements or adding new depth.

Same here! But when I complained to my wife about it, she was less than sympathetic. She apparently doesn't care about my feelings. ![]()
