Sorastro is doing a painting series for Runewars!
Only two figures, and only on his YouTube channel, not on patreon.
Does it matter where the video is posted?
Is he definitely only doing the two? Or is there a chance he'll do more?

I'm initially just going to cover the Carrion Lancer and Rune Golem as I currently have too many series on the go! There's a good chance I will paint the rest in time though - especially if I like the game (and it does look amazing!).

Ha ha - Hi Muzz! You were one of my very earliest supporters, both on the forums and on Patreon and I can't thank you enough for the part you played in giving me the confidence to pursue this creative life. I wouldn't be doing this now if it wasn't for that early encouragement, so I think you've more than done your bit! Massive congratulations on the new job by the way; I'm really happy for you!
Back on topic though; I can't wait for everyone to get Runewars in their hands and start sharing painting ideas and posting pictures of their units etc; it really is a game that begs to be painted!

I'm looking forward to the rune golem and how you get the vibrant colors underneat the stone. I was thinking paint it all dark grey, shade then go back in and build up the blue from dark to a bright royal blue glow. Maybe a glaze as well in the recesses. Then do the highlights on the stone grey.
I also want to do my golems in the three rune colors: red, green and blue. I think that would make them unique yet still themed to Terrinoth.
I'm hoping we will get an alternate colour for the carrion lancer as well. It kind of annoys me that the thicker carapace on top has been painted a lighter colour than the rest of the model. If not for the position of the legs I'd have sworn the worm was upside down and it truly eats me up inside.
The concept art below offers a more sensible colour scheme. With an example of a model painted in similar fashion below.
So many options! I can't wait to get started on these

Obviously it is an evolutionary adaptation to make predators mistake their chitinous plating for the soft underbelly

I'll leave it to the experienced painters to do trial and error then I'll just copy Sorastro.

I've started on Zombicide on my own. Then I got going on IA with Sorastro, and now I need to redo all my zombicide b/c they look terrible to me! But now that I know a lot of techniques from the Video I'm confident I can do a lot on my own. My main concern is that I only have a limited time to dedicate to painting and don't want to do a bunch of iterations on one model.
In fact I'm pretty sure he's only doing the core set for Descent, so I'm going to have to figure out schemes for all my other expansion mini's.

Quick question - will you be using the same paint brands (i.e. largely GW) as you use on Descent and Imperial Assault?

Hi maxam! I will be using a bit of a mix - some Citadel and possibly some Vallejo, but I will also be using quite a few from the latest range of Army Painter paints

No problem! I will also probably include a paint conversion list with the guide(s) to help viewers match the colours with whatever brand they may be using.
It's a long time (20 years!) since I painted anything and have been tempted to paint my Descent minis after seeing a few of your videos, but I think I'll actually take the plunge and do it for Runewars ... dead keen to get started and looking forward to your Runewars videos!
