Nice job sounds like you only have 50 or so people to beat.

I really wish the southeast US got an open! I think they decided against it because Celebration is in FL. That doesn't help if you can't win your way in. I really wanted that damage deck but can't drop $1000 for plane/hotel just for it. 5 opens in the US but not one within 15 hours drive from my area!

Texas had Mustafar, did it not? TX is not in the SE USA?

No texas is central US. About and 18 hour drive from Georgia.

One in Canada would be nice too.

Beating people was never part of the equation :D I opted for the silly/fun list that fits in my backpack over stuff I'm experienced and good with yet takes up much more space.

From what it sounded like you should still have a 1/4 chance of making the cut unless attendance was much higher today

Why prople don't expect to pay for stuff? 150 is cheap; that is less than a 1/2 billable hour for most professional.

If you expect a professional tournament then expect to pay for one.

I don't even know what that means, but that's okay. My biggest issue was why did FFG limit registration days in advanced of a less than full event?

(Hint) There isn't a good answer. They just arbitrarily decided to make less money.

But that's fine too! The TOs handled the situation well and granted a $20 discount to all participants. I went 3-7 over the entire weekend with my silly Dutch, Shara, Esege list. It's a hoot to fly but even fully modified(!!!) 2 dice attacks just don't cut it. Who knew?!

Still, this weekend was all about swag. Arabesh Vader crew, new Vader damage deck, 2 lothal reb/baron o' empire cards, an Endor SoS mat, and some discount ships. If I did well, I could've even got a single target lock! But again, I didn't. Winning is for try hards.

Hopefully all the Paratannis choke tomorrow (sorry fellas) and Blair's rebel swarm takes Der Maussenweld by storm!

Your right forgot to add the cost of missing work so it would really cost $450 to have played.

So I saw on reddit that you didn't even need the con badge to get to where the tournament was being run. That's just... mind boggling. They'd have a lot bigger turn out than the 75 they got.

Yeah, you could walk in off the street, take an escalator and you're there. They had people looking for badges before you could use the bathrooms, but clever people could've just borrowed a friend's for 5 minutes while they take care of business.

Oh well, I had a lot of fun and it still ended up being a very well run, very fun event. Most of the best players in the area got in and are battling it out as I type. I couldn't stick around for the cut today so I'm eagerly awaiting updates.

Chris beat Blair. Paratanni won out over awesome Rebel jank swarm.

Sad sad day. But congrats to Chris.

I found out yesterday that my brother had an ECCC ticket he wasn't using because he's recovering from surgery. *facepalm* I coulda gone even if.

Ah well, maybe next year.

I would dare to say it is small size clusterfudge considering there is 80 (eighty!) people on a System Open rank tournament! Quite uderwhelming 370 people in UK / 270 in Germany / tickets sold out within 1 hour for the spanish one...

Although I know thats because the ridiculous 150 bucks entry fee, I really hope FFG will rethink Open Series spread next year...

They can send it to Australia next year. We'll get a **** sight more that 60 attend.

**** straight. Host it at the right location in either Sydney or Melbourne and you'd have hundreds of players from across the country coming.

We'd have had hundreds too if FFG didn't go out of their way to create obstacles in the way of good attendance. Please don't take it away from us next year!

I definitely would have gone if I knew you could get in without a badge. Oh well. Australia should get an event as well as Seattle getting a return. Our regional had quite the showing so I know the demand is here. Looks like I'll never know if my Carnor/Sabacc/Upsi-palp list could have competed with Parattani in a major event with the FAQ changes. Oh well on to the next Meta!

A shame! It would've been the only Upsilon shuttle in attendance.
