Can a four activation list be competitive in today's skirmish? In most cases, it seems like the more activations one gets the better.
Four activation list
I've played a three activation list before at a tournament. went 2-1. Practice with it. I've said it before that you can make anything work if you try hard enough at it.
I saw an AT-ST/General Weiss 4-activation list get 2nd at a 8-man tourney. The same guy who made that list (HI TOMMY!) ran a 2-Rancor 5-activation list in a 4-person tournament that he won. My Onar and Shyla became the meat in a Rancor Sandwich.
Edited by cnemmickAre these actions group deployment cards (Stormtroopers/Rangers/ect) or single figures?
You're going to need extra figures to do stuff like open doors and contest on terminals to be competitive.
Sorry, yes groups. For example:
2 e rangers, jedi luke, c-3p0, rebel high command
Edited by player1730131I experimented with a 3-activation (3-4 figures in total!) list to test the new scoring rules in the extreme. It was very swingy and not something I would recommend anyone for doing if they want to do well. It was fun, though.
I've seen a Rancor x 2 and Vader make it to the top 4 of a regional. I think temp alliance and zillo to make it to 40.

If that was at the harlequin regional with Lee Dalton running it then yes that is the list. What makes it even more fun was the handful of times that he got the rancors rules wrong and blocked himself behind doors (and blocking them in his deployment zone during setup didn't help in one game)

That was a 2x AT-ST and 2x eOfficer list. Those big base guys are fun! I wish there was a feasible way to play AT-ST and Rancor together!
General Weiss 16
Officer 2
Zillo 1
temp all 1
Rancor 10
Rancor 10
I did okay with:
General Weiss
Darth Vader
eOfficer
Zillo.
A friend of mine played a Vader-Champion-rOfficer-eOfficer list for a while.
He won a 6-player tournament with that and got 2nd place in a 8 players tournament with the improved version.
He found all his opponents had problems figuring out what to do against this.

I can believe it. I would probably have Luke go for Darth Vader and then my 14 eAssassin Droids would go for the Champion. No problems....

Well, this is just 4 activations, but still 8 figures, so I think it might be worth a shot.
The only weakness I think it has is that there is only 1 Focus per round, and 6 figures who really want it. In a squad with just 1 eRanger deployment group, the Gideon-3P0 duo gives 2 Focus per round, distributed among those 3 eRangers, but now in this version that you've listed, there is only half the amount of Focus available, but twice the number of figures who want it. The thing it has going for it is that wow...that is a LOT of long-range attacks! I'm not sure that you'll need the Focus with that many attacks from range 7 or so...anything not hidden away at the end of its activation has a death wish. I like the concept, and I may try it out.
Furthermore, RHC mitigates the fact that in some cases you might not have someone sitting on a terminal...as long as you can even just keep your opponent from controlling both terminals at the end of a round, you're still breaking even...but when you can spare a Ranger or 3P0 to hold a terminal, then even better.
I like the concept; I think it's crazy enough that it just may work....![]()
