Hey all.
So heres the scenario, a MC30 shot up a Gozanti cruiser flotilla. The rebel player rolled one lockdown and 5 hits. He locks down the scatter.
Here's where we are confuse, the Empire player used his evade token to then cancel the lockdown and then scattered the flotilla.
The question is can he do that?
No.
Because in the sequence of attacks, spend defense tokens happen after Accuracies have been assigned. You must actually remove the accuracy from the attack pool to use its effect. Once you do, it has the effect of negating the use of one defense token.
So you would roll the attack, count the hits, take the accuracy and remove it from the pool, and then resolve the accuracy effect of "You cannot use that defense token while defending from this attack." Once this (and any other attack pool modifications) occurs, then the Spend Defense Tokens step happens.
The accuracy is removed from the pool and it's effect is already applied, it cannot be evaded.
So now, since the Scatter is locked-down, it cannot be used in this attack, unless the ship has Electronic Counter Measures.
I'm curious as to how that many dice were rolled at long range. If it was medium the evade only does a reroll and close it does nothing. Aside from the earlier corrections posted.

Just gotta be careful not to fight him on his terms. Ackbar is a fantastic beginner admiral. He's very easy to do reasonably well with, but the counter play is also not terribly subtle: don't hang out in his side arcs, don't chase him, don't let him set up sustained shots on your ships, and you'll be okay.
Sounds like he should've had tua and ECMs lol Imperial Gozanti's can be a lot of fun because of tua lol
