Clone Wars already in hand

By Lobokai, in X-Wing

IF FFG ever got the green light to do Clone Wars stuff and led off a "Most Wanted" type expansion... what small and large ships from the era do we already have?

Z-95

YWing

ARC

Firespray

Aggressor

Commonwealth Defenders (sorta)

what are the others I am missing?

YT-1300, blockade runner...

Technically the ywings and z95s are different models though. Like the t65 and t70 xwings for example so couldn't just use new cardboard.

Yt1300s and yv666s were around as well. Possibly some of the other large scum ships as well.

Given Ventress is from Clone Wars, we can be sure the Lancer Class Pursuit Craft was around then as well. Especially given the Banshee was her ship.

The Lancer was actually created for the clone wars but was never used as the show was canceled before they had a chance to use it. It was later repurposed for use in Rebels.

I think the Clone Wars would be a good way to reboot X-Wing to 2.0.

FIRE AND BRIMSTONE IT IS HERESY YOU SPEAK!!!

OTOH, what if. . .

The Naboo fighter was designed the way the A-Wing shoulda been. . .

The old version of the Y-Wing was the way new Y-Wing shoulda been. . .

et al.

I speak the words of the almighty Jar Jar

If Jar Jar is ever pilot or crew, I burn that card...

...unless it's good. Dang it <_<

Maybe they could put two cards in the pack. . .for therapy purposes :)

I don't think they were. At least: the Clone Wars era Y-Wings were the same ones we see being stolen by the Specters in Rebels. The cosmetic difference is that the Rebel Y-Wings had their armor stripped off before the Rebellion got their hands on them.

All that might be enough to justify a new title, but probably not a whole new stat line.

Jar Jar would be like Biggs but for Scum.

Jar Jar would have to be thematic. He always messed up yet always lived. It would have to be something like, when attacking, convert all hits and crits to blank results. Any results cancelled this way can't be rerolled. Assign stress to the defender in the amount of cancelled results.

Oh sure his PRINTED ability might be thematic.... but honestly who is NOT going to shoot Jar Jar first?

They expanded his lore... He got ousted from the senate after the Empire came around. He's basically a street performer on naboo by the time of the battle of Jakku.

What do you mean by Clone Wars stuff? If you are talking about using clone wars ships and characters they already have with the Arc-170 and Shadow Caster. The Prequels are now open to X-wing as source material for new waves along with the sequel and other future movies.

If you are talking about Clone War Factions such as Republic vs CIS, I can't rule it out but I can say not likely in the foreseeable future, at least not for the next few waves. The biggest question (as I said in another post) is which primary faction would they belong too as the politics of that time period were rather construed. You can argue Rebels get Republic and Imperials get CIS just as much as you can argue that Rebels get CIS and Imperials get Republic. It is likely that any new faction will be mixed with a primary faction (just like the Resistance and the 1st Order) as in this stage of the game it is very hard for a faction to start out and compete especially when all the other factions have waves of ships ahead of them and more variety to build with.

I would like to see clone war era ships though. Perhaps a new upgrade type like an artifact upgrade slot for the Jedi and Sith ships. Just as the sequels have the tech upgrade slot. Still it is likely any other prequel ships will follow the same path as the ARC-170 and find a home with either the Rebel Alliance, Galactic empire, or Scum & Villainy.

I've thought about that issue (who goes where) and its tricky

For gameplay, I've kinda thought

Rebels get Jedi and Naboo

Empire gets Clones

Scum get Separatists and Fett

But clearly that's got some serious flaws and problems...

Got it.

  • Jar Jar Binks

The first ship that declares you the target of their attack they must immediately discards all focus evade and blue target lock tokens then receives a stress token.

When ever you receive a stress token, receive another stress token.

<crew> 0 points.

Lets not forget no faction so just like Bo Shek. SO EVERYBODY CAN GET A SHOT AT HIM! Actually that would make a good Imperial Assault meme. Have Jar Jar in the center and both Rebels Imperials and Scum are pointing their blasters at him waiting for the word to light him up.

You could manage it by still doing the double faction thing but do it on a ship by ship basis not just doing whole subfactions. Such that CIS isn't a sub faction of Imperial or rebel say.

So the Naboo N1 would be Republic/Rebel but the Eta 2 is Republic/Imperial for example.

I think we should make him like Jerjerod bu for stress. After all, it would feel good to Jettison him.

MAYBE AT YOUR HOUSE...!!!

 <_< :P

A half of page worth of "Jar Jar sux lulz, me hates him" comments? FFS, people, it's been 18 years. No one likes Jar Jar. Everyone knows he's sucks. You don't have to continue using every opportunity to make inane "jokes" about it.

Clone Wars Space/atmospheric combined with ground assault stuff would be amazing.

I'm of the OT generation and I like Jar Jar. Is he awesome? No, but the dude's alright by me. He's got a good heart and that counts for a lot in my book.

Your views may vary, and that's okay. It would be a pretty dull world if we all thought and felt the same.

Back to the topic: I don't feel we could have Rebel/Imp/Scum factions as is. It would have to change to the Confederacy/Separatists("the bad guys"), the Galactic Republic (essentially the "good guys" with Imperial ships), and Other (Mercenary/Scum)

I've always been puzzled by the 'There are heroes on both sides' remark in the opening crawl of RotS. Maybe there are no good and bad guys in the clone wars. 'This war represents a failure to listen,' Padme says at one point. It suggests that they could have avoided war and come to a fair agreement.

But the Clone Wars cartoon does picture the separatists as evil, with the typical bad guy grins and all.
