I know this is a little bit late, and maybe already tested by some for a while and found out to be not this good.

But we are a bit slow (becauce of no products). And untill last week we were still using lists without wave 5 for the regionals. So there was no time for the new sets.

Last week we started with our CC campain.
And i was using a squadron list of:
Colonel Jendon, Lambda Shuttle, Maarek Stele, Ciena Ree, Valen Rudor, Saber Squadron.

And i was really impressed how well these worked together. I had an answer for everything. And all in synergy with Jendon (maybe this will be a problem, if all is focused on him). His ability to let everyone else do a double attack was insane.
I could block a huge area with Saber Squad and ignore counter with Saber and Valen. Maarek became a real ship killer with 2x2 damage and a crit in each attack. And he even worked impressive well against squadrons.
The relay bonus from him was even a nice bonus. My carrier could fly on the other side of the map, and still send in the squadrons like mad.

So how is he working for others? I do not see him this often in lists. So my question is: do i overrate him a bit?

Nope, Jendon is pretty **** good!

His weakness is simply the fact he needs another hard hitting squadron, else he just hits like a wet sponge.

Jendon is never just 20 points.

Nope, he IS that good, given that you can switch his attack between good antiship and good antisquadron. I used Jendonball (my version was Jendon/Boba/Bossk/Vader/Zertik/TieAdv but I wonder if Maarek is a better choice as opposed to Vader. Also if someone inclined to run full squads the points do allow to add Rhymer) in one of my regional builds and it did perform (No lost games, 2nd overall).

What I found is that he likes to have redundant sources of damage and Escort to protect these sources as one of the major weaknesses is a low total hull compared to the average build. He also synergizes very well with Gozantis.

As Callum says. His massive weakness is the investment cost. Its not 20pts.

Its 20pts plus tools. More tools the better.

Saber and Marek alone is a big cost. Adding IG or Bossk is more.

And its not just points. Lots of elite squads reduces your number of deployments.
