Amazon Web Services went down - been causing havoc across the interwebs for about 5 hrs.

Eh, good to know the prize categories, but I'd prefer the Prizes to be known themselves :D

Is this like the cloudleak that happened?

Best prize is the free travel expenses and you get a friend.

Still wouldn't help me. ::sigh::

Do we ever get to find out which cards were actually 'made' with previous champions?

I don't think they have been released yet.

Team tourney at the same time as the final four? Seriously?

We seem to be made to suffer. It's our lot in life.

I was a bit confused by that too. Maybe it's for all the people who didn't make it.

I will say that 5 rounds over two days with a Top 4 cut sounds really ballin' after last years raking over the coals.

Yeah I noticed that to and I am pretty disappointed. Whether you make it to top 4 or not it would be nice to watch the game as it is streamed and not feel you are missing out on another event that was meant for your game.

This should be tougher to make top four in five rounds if the pool of people is 120 vs making the top 2 in four rounds out of a pool of 40.

I am guessing 120 contestants due to some hearsay factors, but I believe someone mentioned that the event center room for armada could seat this many players.

I wonder if that made news.

Not really. The problem in the last year was, that it was the upper point of the pool (29-44 player: 4 rounds, cut top 2). With over 40 player, it was way to hard to get to the cut of 2. With one big pool you have more high point players who will play against each other.

The only sad part is, that you can even have 300 players, and still only play 5 rounds with a cut of top 4. THIS would be insane.

When you check the prices, you will see one price for top 32 and one for top 1/3.
120 player would mean 1/3 is 40. I am afraid they will set the number a bit higher, to make a difference between top 32 and top 1/3. Somewhere around 192. But these numbers are a bit high, when you realise how many space you need for it.
One more reason for a more open WM would be the registration. 120 is not really alot. As more as they allow, as more have the chance to join. And it will not only be a "luck" factor if you can get through the registration fast enough befor all tickets are sold.

How quickly did tickets sell out last time? That's the only limiting factor for me in going.

Well, last time they had some major software failures when trying to do the ticketing, too - so its hard to judge.

X-Wing sold out almost immediately, as did Netrunner and GOT... But the others took some moments to work through - But eventually, everything had to run on the lottery system to see if tickets were allocated.

So really, there's no way of knowing. Especially if they're increasing the cap and utilising a new system againm, whcih they do appear to be.

I think it's what they do with Netrunner after the first day. Anyone who didn't make it goes and plays in a King of Servers event which is team based.
