Multiple choices for spending advantages?

By Rosco74, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

Hello, just another quick question about spending advantages.

Can we select multiple choices if we have enough advantages in the table? For exemple I have 6 advantages, can I use 3 to disable ennemy shields and 2 to perform an immediate free maneuver, than the last one to add a boost for my next gunnery check?

thanks a lot

Yes.

Ok, thanks for the quick reply ;)

Same holds true for multiple threat, and if you're fortunate/unfortunate enough to get them, multiple triumphs and despairs.

The player (and GM for threat and despair) is always free to spend them in whatever combination they want, based upon how many are rolled.

There is a caveat. Only a few of the choices allow them to be selected more than once for the same attack check.

Wich ones are only unique per check ? I can't see any from my first review

Generally the adding boost and setback dice to another character's check. They're listed out in the chart for suggested uses of advantage/threat/triumph/despair in the combat chapter of each book.

Now that the boost/setback is generally once per character (or at least that's been my read of it). So if you've got five advantage, you could spend 2 of them to give Ally #1 a boost die, 2 of them to give Ally #2 a boost die, and then the last advantage to give the next PC to act a boost die. And if Ally #1 or #2 is the next PC to act, then they'd get two boost dice in this instance.

There are ones that say explicitly that they may be selected more than once. This implies that every other choice can only be selected once for that attack, or once per target. For example, the 1-advantage pass a boost cannot be applied more than once. You can pass two boosts to the same ally, but it costs 3-4 advantages to do so (1 advantage pass boost to next ally and 2 advantage pass a boost to a specific ally). Ignoring defense or environmental penalties only lasts one round and cannot be stacked for longer duration (unless there's been a dev ruling/errata that allows extending the duration).

Ok excellent and thanks to you, very interesting the way to give the next ally two boost dice!
