Range modifier in melee and Step Aside+Wall of Steel

By Crate2, in Dark Heresy Rules Questions

So I know you dont get Point-Blank modifier for shooting while in melee, but would you get the close range modifier or is it just unmodified ?

Do I get both an extra parry and an extra dodge for having Step Aside and Wall of Steel ?

I don't know the exact answer to the first question, but think about this:

Do you get the 'Short Ranged' Modifier when you're at Point Blank range? If the answer is no, which I suspect it is (one replaces the other), then I'd say no, you don't get the +10 for being at Short Ranged when in close combat.

As to the second one, Wall of Steel and Step Aside each give you an additional reaction on top of the one you already have. If you have both it doesn't mean you can do two parries and two dodges in a turn, it means you can either do two parries and a dodge, or one parry and two dodges.

On the first question; no.

When you are engaged with an enemy, they are at Point Blank range, not short range. The books states you don't get the PB bonus because that is the only range that melee would happen at though, for clarity, the rules should have just stated you get no bonus for range.

Thanks for the help, this is what suspected but our group wasnt 100% sure.
