CC Resource Timing Question

Both battles have ended in Turn 1 of our campaign. 1 rebel win and 1 imperial win, both fought on nuetral planets.

What is the order of obtaining resources and buying bases/outposts?

Scenario 1:

Step 1. Spend points to buy a base or and outpost

Step 2. Gain points.

This would mean you can gain the resource points from the outpost or base as well as the planet resource on the same Campaign Turn you just took that base.

Scenario 2:

Gain points.

Spend points to buy base or an outpost

This means you won't gain the resource points until the NEXT Campaign Turn's Management phase.

I realize that at the beginning, turn 1, you have no points to spend on bases so it's a moot point, but I'm thinking on turn 2,3... etc.

The order will matter because the rebels could then potentially get a free outpost on turn one, can gain more resources than the imperials who can't buy a base due to them having 0 resources.

Which order is correct, Scenario 1 or Scenario 2?

The order is given in the Rulebook.


1) Gain Resources.

2) Spend Resources to Build Base.

3) Refit and Modify Fleets.

Both on the applicable pages, and in the Summary order on the back :D

Yeah I didn't feel like it was specific enough in regards to the order... so I figured I'd just ask

Remember to do this phase separately- the Rebel player needs to keep secret from the Imperial how many points they're spending on outposts v bases, which then changes how many they have left for fleet refit.

For completeness sake:

0) Bases get destroyed directly after battle.

1) Gain Resources.

2) Spend Resources to Build Base.

3) Refit and Modify Fleets.

Aren't all refit and resource points spent by each player public, per the rules?

So this would mean if you build a new base at a location with shipyards, you would gain the extra 5 repair points that same turn, correct?

Repair Yards, and Yes.

Yep. So you can check the math at the end and tell if it's a base or outpost.

You don't even have to wait until the end.

Each turn you know how much was spent by each player, what their new fleet composition is, and how much they have saved.

Pretty easy to tell if 0 or 15 points were spent. :)
