Hello, just started up X-wing. I've gotten a total of 3 games under my belt. 2 losses and 1 win(murdered the hell out of Po and Rey in the Falcon, Rey sucks at flying apparently)., and been loving it so far. All in on Empire!
Now that I've gotten a little more experience here is a list using the stuff I own(I have a base core set, Imperial Veterans, a TIE defender, and a Tie Interceptor. So 2 basic TIEs, 2 Defenders(one red), a Tie bomber, and an Interceptor)
TIE Defender- Countess Ryad: TIE/D, Outmaneuver, Ion cannon- 40 points
TIE Bomber- Tomax Bren: Long Range Scanners, Proton Torpedoes, Proximity Mines- 31 points
TIE Interceptor- Soontir Fel: Elusiveness- 29 points
I've used Countess Ryad in all of my games so far and loving her. Being able to always turn around is pretty sweet. And pretty much always having an evade token is nice. Ion Cannon+TIE/D+Ion Cannon seems like a sweet combo with her ability to hang a U turn. I do like the TIEx7 upgrade, but this seems like a nice focused package
Used Soontir Fel once and he did good. I borrowed a card I didn't own that I was told synergized with him better than what I had. I forget what it was called, free boost and suffer a stress, then get a free focus from his ability. But till I get the Imperial Aces pack I'll just use what I got. Elusiveness seems good, especially for the fragile Interceptor and if anybody wants stress its Soontir.
Haven't used my bomber yet so not sure what is best for a bomber. but long range scanners and proton torpedoes seems like a good combo. Proximity mine for area denial.
Also, any advice on future purchases would be cool. I've been told I should get a TIE Phantom and I've seen them in action.
I'm also trading my one X-wing for 2 FO TIEs from the second starter pack and all their cards so I will have 2 FO TIEs soon. And I have ordered the Imperial Aces box.
I also have 1 rules question. I was told that if a ship has multiple tokens, say a Focus and an Evade token, that it cannot spend both vs the same attack. But nothing in the rulebook says this, infact it seems to imply the opposite. That you can spend both a focus and evade token vs the same attack. Is this in an FAQ or Errata somewhere or was my opponent mistaken?
