I'm sure there are but I don't know off hand. PTL is local otherwise I wouldn't even have discovered this one.

QuoteI've a tournament today, I think I want to try out the consensus of Survivor Poe, Stress Nien, and M9 Jess. Any tips on how to fly it?
I decided to go with Nien with R3A2 Snapshot Integrated BlackOne PatternAnalyzer, Jess with M9G8 Integrated, and Ello with Predator R2astro Integrated WeaponsGuidance, going full aggro.
Game one was vs Asajj with Latts Gyroscope PTL ShadowCaster BMST and 2 TLT Agromech thugs. First round of combat i put 0 damage on asajj for 0 damage on Nien. Rounds 2-4 i gunned it past assaj and went after the ys, killing 1 on round 2, the second had no shot round 3 and died round 4, trading for 3 shields on Ello and 1 on Jess. I chased asajj around through the rocks, had a rough turn with only 1 shot for two rounds, but ended thw game 100-0 with ello full hull, jess on 2 shields and nien on 1.
Round 2 vs rebel swarm of rookie rookie blue bandit bandit bandit. Rounds 1-3 i ran along my board edge to cluster him up and muddy the engagement. Round 4 we engaged, ello and nien erased the b with 2 shots and jess solo'd a z, dropping both before nien lost all shields. Next round nien stressed a z with snapshot and aced a rookie with my shots, loosing 2 hull and r2 in return. Round 6 i killed the only z that had a shot. The following round everything bumped his rookie and the z whiffed, and the round after that i turned on and eviscerated the z. 3 rounds later i ended the last rookie, totaling 100-0, nien droidless with 1 hull left, jess on 1 shield and ello on 2.
Round 3 vs Ahsoka with captured and vi, norra with ptl r2d2 overhaul and rey, biggs with r2f2 integrated, and captain rex. First 2 rounds we went for positioning, round 3 i double stressed norra and took her shields in exchange for shields on jess and mg98 from a double damage. Round 4 i finished biggs and norra ended up 1 shield higher than before. Round 5 nien bumped the wrong direction stressed, norra takes 2 of ellos shields while i waste shots at rex. Next round nien stresses and deals 2 damage to rex while ello puts 4 into a full health norra, taking her shields and dealing 1 hull, Everyone else whiffs. Round 7 nien takes 2 damage, including a blinded pilot, and looses the stressbot to a double damage crit while ello brings norra to 4 and no shields and jess kills rex. Nien turns his blinded down with a snap shot and dies to ahsoka while nothing else shoots. Next round, ello forces a bump on norra, ahsoka kills jess, and i get no other shots. Following round norra takes ellos last shield for no return, and goes back to 4 hull 3 shields. Round 11 ello puts a stunned pilot on ahsoka with no return fire. A couple rounds later, norra puts the final damage on ello, ending my run 2-1, 61-139, 461-139 overall.
Edited by ErulethoThat last list seem like a real tough list!
Glad you did well. Cool to see Ello back out too.
Anything you would have run differently in this list?
I want to try a straight up 4 Blue Sqn Pilots w/ R2 Simple and fun to play the games namesake.

There are lots of videos of Sling Paint's Berto playing his "Baby Blues." Check them out. I've flown it before too.
But this thread is about 3 T-70s, no more, no less.

Every upgrade got it's use except Black 1 and Weapons Guidance. Every game Ello ended up stressed once, and the 2-hard green allowed him to stay in the fight.
My biggest regret is forgetting in game 3 that Jess moves before Rex, bumping Rex with Jess causing Nien to miss his K-turn and wind up facing the wrong way stressed. So, what I would run differently is I would take more time lining up each move. When playing with non-top-tier ships, you REALLY have to be on the top of your game.
This is the turn where my game stalled against Asajj, as Ello went across scrap AND bumped. It took me 2 turns to whip around and get back in the fight with him.
The aftermath of the first round of engagement, game 2. The nuked Z was right in front of Nien, and the B-wing was in front of #2 X-wing, outside of range 1 of it, in Nien's face.
This is the turn I engaged on the Norra list in round 3. I did a ballsy boost with Nien and managed to catch Norra (they aren't bumping, despite what the picture looks like) and barely have Biggs out of arc to snap her and shoot her for double stress. I had boosted both previous turns with all 3, so Jess had to target lock Nien that turn, meaning she was focus-less.
Edited by ErulethoSo I did 2-1 in a Worlds Hangar Bay with the list below (playing this list all three rounds) -- I think I'll play with it a bit back at home; it was pretty fun:
=================
All About Red Ace
=================
100 points
Poe Dameron (PS8 Version) (35)
T-70 X-Wing (31), R5-P9 (3), Cool Hand (1), Integrated Astromech (0)
“Red Ace” (36)
T-70 X-Wing (29), R2-D2 (4), Comm Relay (3), Integrated Astromech (0)
Jess Pava (29)
T-70 X-Wing (25), M9-G8 (3), Hyperwave Comm Scanner (1), Integrated Astromech (0)
So what is everyones concrete T-70 builds? For me:
Poe (33)
Black One (1)
BB-8 (2)
Integrated Astromech (0)
Push the Limit (3)
Primed Thrusters (1)
A hefty 40 points, but fluffy and thematic.
Two reasons for posing this:
1) To see reasonable/alternative builds for specific pilots and craft a couple of lists with these ideas
2) Keep this thread going because it's hands down the best thread on the board.
28 Points:
Jess Pava
M9-G8
Integrated Astromech
She's a Brick House- She's mighty mighty -ow!

Me, myself and I are massive fanboyz of Nien Numb (snapshot + stressdroid) so;
PS8 Poe: ptl, bb8, primed thr., title & IA
Nien: snapshot/R3A2, primed thr & IA
Jess Pava: M9-G8 & IA
100 pts on the dot.
I love Nien Nunb with Stay on Target, Targeting Astromech and Integrated. When he changes his move to end up at range one with target lock and focus it's glorious.
I'm not sure I really like regen Poe that much, it's more fun to fly the BB8 version.
I love Snap as well but I don't think I wouldn run him without Veteran Instincts. It's possible Snap with BB8, Veteran Instincts and Black One is better value than Poe.

If we're talking just one T-70, then like @BlodVargarna said, it's definitely Jess Pava for me, her default droid being M9-G8 (but open to other options). She can fit in so many lists, it's silly.
Edited by gennataosI still like angry Nien- rage, EI, R3A2, PA.
BB-8 Poe and M9-G8 Jess have already been mentioned. My other love is
Snap Wexley, Targeting Astromech, Pattern Analyzer.
I'm not set on the elite talent. Snap Shot is great, but Nien uses it better. Stay on Target sounds fun, but since it only works every-other round, it makes me nervous (though without Stay on Target, Targeting Astromech activates even less than that, so...). Usually I equip him with Trick Shot because I run out of points. Getting three of the named T-70 pilots can be really tight on points.

Not sure I understand snapshot on nien. I suppose there is the potential for double stress on a target but it seems like most of the time id would be hard to trigger it as a lot of ships will have already moved by the time Nien moves, and if you end your move at range 1 of somebody so you clear all your stress, the chances of another ship who hasn't moved moving into that same --already occupied-- range 1 territory seems kinda low? tl;dr Stay on target better on nien?
I use Nien as my 'ace insurance'. He hunts high-PS aces.

Snap Shot on Nien creates a "no-fly" zone for lower PS pilots and like @Elkerlyc said, he serves as an ace hunter.
An interesting discussion on rock placement on main thread has me wondering what rocks my fellow triple T-70 aficionados use?
Myself, I put the three smallest rocks in my collection. 1) I hate landing on rocks, 2) they fit in my small travel case.
Maybe I should reconsider and use the big ones?
I use crescent, mustache, and that medium-sized one with two nubs. No real reason except they're all TFA. I like medium-sized rocks.
To be totally honest, I used to run with the biggest asteroids, but they messed me up more than my opponents. I learned that I'm not as good at maneuvering as I once thought.
Edited by ParakitorI don't tend to worry about them. I take a large and two small, but I figure the placement doesn't matter too much for t-70s. Your opponent, however, has a plan. I tend to see what they're trying to set up and spoil it.
people make a big thing of turn zero but rule one is don't land on the rocks - their location doesn't change that.
Rocks are a weird thing for this list. T-70's aren't exceptionally maneuverable, plus need a decent amount of space to do T-rolls and to keep formation. I think rock placement is more important than specifically which rocks you run, but generally small rocks make it easier to get around.
I try to keep the asteroids on my side of the field, hopefully engaging with them at my back so I can reposition better than my opponent after the initial engagement. as to specifically where the rocks go, you have to look at what your opponent is running, lost a match last night to a tractor beam+cluster mines list because I wasn't thinking when I placed my rocks and gave my opponent easy choke points.

I totally agree!

And it's because of statements like this that this topic is so good. Asterus didn't say, "Well, I coulda won, but Tractor Beams are OP against 2 agility." Nope. He pointed out the tactical mistake, and shared it so we could all learn. This is awesome!
Much of me wants to run First Order at Store Championships, but I'm gonna have to go triple T-70s in honor of this topic and all the great contributors.
I like to take debris fields because even if you get flung onto one via a Tractor, you can still get a shot off. Make sure you position them where you'd like to make the engagement happen and play into it.
Bonus points if you get Nien tractored onto a debris field and he discards the stress : )
