Here's a pic with a few new die faces from the 'Maz' and R2 die, as well as two new cards and another Maz card. I think this means that Maz will be a character and will also appear on another die in the set. This is from a magazine.

Yep. That's why I'm pretty sure that the one with the ranged damage is an actual Max character.

It appears so.
That looks like a good, cheap upgrade! Would work well for my Han, Hired Gun, Hired Gun list.
It'll probably have a comparatively weak ability, in the same vein as Scout and Infiltrate.

We can only see 4 sides on the 1 cost card but there is 1Focus/2Focus(!)/1Resource/1Resource.... I am already excited to play that card and I have no idea what else it does.
I'm guessing there's some kind of drawback for the Upgrade. You can see the start of the text, 'To...', there may be an additional cost to play it. Or they are really, really undervaluing the double focus.

I guess you will need to spot a yellow (?) character or (as the die is really really good) to discard a card to play it.
Those 4 faces are all the faces of the upgrade I guess: 1-cost upgrade always have 2 blank faces till now.

If they're sticking to regular templating the fifth side of the "maz"-upgrade is either a resource or a special, you can see the black field on it so it can't be a +1 resource (blue) or a blank (red). I assume it's a special, but that is total speculation.
Planetary uprising looks like a hero backup muscle. It costs 2 ressources to Play, and the text seems to say : if you control the Battlefield, you mat exasted this card to deal 2 damage distribute as the opposant wishes.
Hope the packs stay $2.99

My guess is, based on the close up on her face and the 4 sides we know about, the upgrade is her "glasses" or whatever those spectacles would be called. Nothing else in the picture. Could be unique.
