Squadron Builds using Expansion Packs as a base (Noob Help)

Hey there gang!

So I have 2 new friends who want to get started on X-Wing and have bought one of the Expansion Packs each to get started.

One has gone for the Imperial Veterans box, the other for the S&V Most Wanted box.

Now I want to help build them both a 100pt list using those models but I'm not quite sure what builds would be good (not played in a long time). We want to try and keep the costs to a minimum whilst also keeping the squads viable. (So no TIE-Fighter or Headhunter spam please haha)

I was thinking something along the lines of;

  • 1x TIE-Defender, 1x TIE-Bomber & 3x TIE-Fighter (or maybe 2x TIE-Bomber & 2x TIE-Fighter instead).

Aaaand

  • 1x Y-Wing, 2x Headhunter & 1x Firespray (specifically Boba Fett).

But I have no idea which pilots to pick or which titles/upgrades/etc to take. So if you could please help us nooby friends get started in the game, that would be absolutely fantastic, Thanks guys! :D

I currently own 1x B-Wing, 1x E-Wing, 2x A-Wings, 3x X-Wings.

I'm a huge fan of B-Wings and A-Wings, so my current list has been;

  • B-Wing: Blue Squadron Pilot - 22pts
  • X-Wing: Rookie Pilot - 21pts
  • X-Wing: Rookie Pilot - 21pts
  • A-Wing: Green Squadron Pilot - Cool Hand, Chardaan Refit - 18pts
  • A-Wing: Green Squadron Pilot - Cool Hand, Chardaan Refit - 18pts
  • Total: 100pts

or

  • E-Wing: Etahn A'baht - R2-DE, Shield Upgrade - 40pts
  • A-Wing: Green Squadron Pilot - Predator, Chardaan Refit - 20pts
  • A-Wing: Green Squadron Pilot - Predator, Chardaan Refit - 20pts
  • A-Wing: Green Squadron Pilot - Predator, Chardaan Refit - 20pts
  • Total: 100pts

But let me know if you'd do anything differently! :D
