Rebel stressy list

By RittsMJ, in X-Wing Squad Lists

So after more playtesting this is where I'm at with my attempt at playing Rebels competitively w/o Ghost or Kwings:

B-Wing: · Keyan Farlander (29)
Rage (1)
B-Wing/E2 (1)
Inspiring Recruit (1)
ARC-170: · Braylen Stramm (25)
· R3-A2 (2)
Gunner (5)
Alliance Overhaul (0)
U-Wing: · Cassian Andor (27)
Adaptability (Increase) (0)
Plasma Torpedoes (3)
Guidance Chips (0)
· Rey (2)
· Jan Ors (2)
Pivot wing (0)
-- TOTAL ------- 98/100p. --

I was using Jyn in place of Rey to give Braylen evades as he's usually prioritized, but now that I'm more comfortable with flying the Uwing I'm opting for more offense. I've also toyed with Tactician, but I'm leaning towards Rey's flexibility to take focus or evade when stressed from doing a hold position manuever.

I'm torn between the initiative bid and FCS on Cassian as well. Also considering proton torps instead of plasmas.

What would you tweek? Are there glaring weaknesses in the current meta?

with the likely to come spam of Rey with expertise, i would try to find a way to deal with her overbearing burst and consistent damage, i would sugges like a biggs+ Rex with w/e else you can put togather

4 SHIP REBELS

100 points

PILOTS

Biggs Darklighter [R4-D6, Integrated Astromech] (26)

Captain Rex (14)

Braylen Stramm [R3-A2, Gunner, Alliance Overhaul] (32)

Jess Pava [BB-8, Primed Thrusters, Integrated Astromech] (28)

Shutting down Expertise with the doyble stress from Braylen can be very effective in mitigating Rey/Finn Expertise version of the Falcon.

You can add collision dector to Keyan for free...

Personally I would go with FCS, Tac Jammer, Jyn/Jan on Cassian to try to help keep Braylen in the fight as long as possible

I tried tactical jammer with jyn/jan. I felt it made me too predictable for an extra evade on Braylen. Especially since he rarely gets a focus token unless jyn gives him 2.

I've moved to flying like all 3 ships matter [though in some match-ups Cassian just blocks]. I get more mileage using Cassian offensively while flying in a looser formation.

Cool, sounds good Ritts, Ill keep that in mind as well.

Has Adaptability helped Cassian in your matches, (does his PS level matter/help)?

Because another thought for the Uwing would be using Bodhi, with Jan/Inspiring Recruit, FCS, and Engine Upgrade.

The 2nd Recruit ensures Braylen can clear his stress on movement, and Jan helps any one ship with an evade...but if PS matters, or having Rey really matters, then you'll need a different modification than EU.

Apdaptability is to choose who moves first between Keyan and Cassian. I briefly tried to use Heff as a blocker, but the people I play against are craftier than me.

I've opted for Cassian to help Braylen and Keyan with stress management. If Keyan rages and doesn't get a shot to clear stress or Braylen needs help clearing his pile then Cassian helps out. He triggers way more than Heff did.

Ok to copy paste here, a topic I posted, that says needs to be approved by moderator first?

Im new here. This only 3rd post on forums. Am a X wing newbie.

I could use some slight tweak help with a B wing, X wing, A wing list.

I would highly recommend Eaden Vrill with intelligence agent and anti-pursuit laser (I also like to add smuggling compartment for feedback array but that's extra). You could replace Andor with this ship and use the extra 2 points for the feedback.

Stramm provides him a 3 power attack and Vrill bumps like a champion lining up shots for your other ships and limiting opposition actions/movement. Farlander should be able to clear stress on his own with his ability and recruit. Stramm can handle his own stress and gunner makes other die mods far less important.

I use attack shuttle Hera with VI, navigator and ion turret instead of Farlander but Keyan seems to fit as well.

I don't have the YT-2400 (though I've been looking for an excuse to pick it up). I'm thinking about the trade offs...

So for the same points as Cassian with Jan, Rey, Plasma Torps, chimps, and FCS. I get Eaden with Jan and APL. If I go with Eaden I get the turret and two more HP, but lose the hold position and strong R3 shot. I generally try for an R3 shot on the first engage frequently followed by a hold position on Cassian, and 1 forwards (or banks) on the Arc and Bwing. That generally lines me up a solid 2nd shot then things get interesting with me trying to keep things in Keyan's arc and keep Braylen from blowing up.

Additionally, for those times when I double stress with Braylen, if I have Cass I can double stress remove into Braylens 4k (or 3 hards). The look on my opponents face when double stressed Braylen on 2 hull suddenly does a 3 hard to get out their kill box is priceless. Sometimes he even get's a shot out of the rear arc.

I might pick up the YT-2400 sometime, but for now I think I'll stick with Cassian. I see Eaden's pluses, just a personal preference to keep the extra stress removal.
