VCX 350

By Squirrelsan, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

So our party ended up with a VCX 350, a somewhat uncommon ship, and I wasn't too fond of the deck plans I could find online, so I made my own. I thought I would share them here for anyone else who likes to use maps and ship plans in their games. I've tried to have a sensible and efficient layout whilst also allowing for interesting encounters and so forth. Looping corridors are rarely the most efficient layout but they provide a far more interesting environment than just a linear central corridor with branches. I am of course interested in feedback. Oh yes, and I took a "Serenity" view to the passenger cabin layout. In my mind paying passengers would be limited to the central section of the ship once in-flight and the only doors they open should be to their own cabin and the refresher. The working parts of the ship are crew only, as well as a small crew lounge for relaxing in private, but meals are generally shared with the passengers.

I cannot claim any of the real "artwork" here, I've just pulled together textures and stuff form various soruces.

Oh yes and I'm British so when I say "Lift" you might call it an "Elevator".

Have they released stats for the VCX 350 or is this totally homebrew?

Not to my knowledge. LibrarianNPC has written up some stats, but I disagree with them, primarily with the Silhouette he has assigned. I assume this is because the ship length listed in Wookiepdia is clearly wrong. The VCX 350 is listed as smaller than a YT 1300 and yet carries 3-10 times as much cargo. I would assign it Silhouette 5, same as the VCX 100 (which also has less cargo than the 350 but is a closer fit). Also all the models and images I've seen do not have a Ventral turret, only a Dorsal turret.

For my sizing I simply compared the size of the side airlocks to those on other CEC ships with deck plans. I've also taken the liberty of assuming the side airlocks are higher up than they appear in all the pictures I've seen. The ship is big enough to need two decks (both the other maps I've seen also have 2 decks) but it makes no sense to have the airlock between decks with stairs or a ramp which would be really inconvenient for moving cargo, so I opted to shift it up.

I can double check the length of the ship when I get home. It first appeared in Star Wars Gamer #2, which I have.
