Need A New Fellowship Deck

By Kakita Shiro, in Strategy and deck-building

I'm playing in a four-player Fellowship and we're encountering quite a bit of resistance from the scenarios but I'm getting a lot of push-back when it comes to changes to decks (too busy, don't own the cards (which I forgive)), so it looks like I might have to build a new deck again (because I have the time and all the cards).

Right now we have an Legolas/Elladan/Elrohir Eagles combat deck, a Dain/Gimli/Oin Dwarf combat deck, and a Thorin/Gloin/Dwalin Dwarf questing deck. Right now I have Elrond, Sam, and Galadriel (Elrond was always there, Sam is there to actually use Sting, and Galadriel is there to provide card draw and threat management in place of Pippin + Merry). Right now THIS is the latest iteration, but something about it still feels off. Taking suggestions. I'd like to keep the heroes, but I can swap Sam or Galadriel if necessary (Elrond has one of the boons, so he ought to stay).

My Forrest Gump deck seems to fit into your restrictions and is quite powerful: http://ringsdb.com/decklist/view/965/forrest-gump-1.0

There are a lot of uniques in there but they are all interchangeable (except Vilya obv.). It doesn't actually need Steward, for example.

Edit: The Harad allies would be good substitutes for any card you need to swap out.

Seems I would have to swap out Galadriel for Arwen to make T1 Vilya a reality. Would you run Elven Light to fuel Arwen or just pitch uniques you can't pay for?

I also want to be able to destroy the Balrog here, so I'm including two copies of Fortune or Fate to resurrect a hero (probably Elrond, we'll see).

You said you were willing to drop Galadriel which is why I mentioned it, but Galadriel is another way to get a T1 Vilya if you include her Mirror (with 3x mirror you do risk running into the other copies with a blind Vilya but you can use the mirror to fish the other copies out).

Another option for the Balrog is to put 3x Sword Thains in the deck and just kill off a random ally. Actually you could probably just put in 1 or 2 given the 3x Masters of the Forge in the deck.

And no, I don't put in Elven-light because it's a dead Vilya card. I get decent amount of draw just by randomly flipping up a Lorien's Wealth, Keen as Lances, or Gandalf, as well as regular card draw from Legolas or Gleowine. The cards are all expensive so generally you can only play 1 or 2 per turn anyway.

We finally got past this quest, though all three other players were eliminated via threat.
