Hot Summer Night

By Pedro Lunaris, in 1. AGoT General Discussion

What I think is a great night celebration with AGoT in an 35ºC (95ºF) environment:

Woah, I wish I could play like this right now. It's winter in here (and a **** cold one). Where are you from?

Brazil. And even if I'm from the southest state, we are getting a very hot summer.

Cool to hear from you, elooooi, I just downloaded the Warhammer Invasion from your blog. Don't know if I'm going to be playing it yet, just wanted to check it out. :]

And you, where are you from?

Those are some spectacular beards.

I'm from Spain and we're having one of the coldest winters ever :P

Yeah this has been a proper winter, for once... We hit around -25 degrees Celsius here in Finland, around Christmas time. =)

...and the beards ARE pretty awesome...

well, I have a well-developed hippie side. though here I prefer to say: the blood from the First Men runs strong in my region. :o]

you should have seen the beard I had when I graduated from college. wanted to make a Freud joke. it did work. heh.

I'm more than a little frightned about what you call a "proper winter". then again, I once heard the windows in Finland had two sheets of glass with a vacuum space between them.

In Germany almost all windows have a special gas between the two layers of glass to keep the heat inside and the cold outside, I guess this is more related to energy efficiency.

We have so much snow these days, too, which is not usual so close to the sea.

and what is this gas? it has some effect on the natural environment?

it must work better than just vacuum as an isolant. or there is a great corporation behind it. conspiranoics... ;]

I'm affiliated to an ecovillage and we try to build our houses and structures with natural materials. we have excelent results with just clay and straw. and large walls, and a living ceiling. but, for sure, we don't have snow here. :}

this topic turned out to be an off topic from AGoT. but I'm very glad to know some of you a little better.

Argon or some other noble gas perhaps?

Yep Kennon, they typically use argon in the applications I've read about.

As to the topic, I feel like I'm missing out. Though I suppose I did play that one shirtless game down in KY one year. Darn Travis _still_ owes me a t-shirt. :)

Can I protect my windows with The Power of Blood, then?

lol

*blink blink*

Is that really LUke?

~ No. It just that sexy model from the pinch of powder artwork. ;-)

About the pictures. It really makes me jealous that the you seem to have that nice and comforting degrees of heat. In Germany i´ts also **** cold (around -2 to -12 degrees celsius) and we had a lot of snow, which i´m really not fond of. Can´t wait for spring and some compliant temperature degrees.

Yeah. Well, to me it gets unconfortable when you are sweting even in shadows, or at night. But, yes, summer does bring really good things, as days that you don't want anything other then go outside and feel the wind blowing. "Calvin" days! :]

(sure, Calvin did like a lot of snow, but I guess you got my meaning...)

And, of course, playing AGoT in the garden, below our grapevine. Even if we are sweting and the electric fan just burned... :]

Next time we are planning to put some very resisting plastic around the cards and go play in the pool. Hah!
