ENJOY THE GAME!!!
Notice there are plenty of X-WINGS?
... FFG IS UP TO SOMETHING!
I first saw the article picture and I thought, "Hooray! The fix is here!" Not today...
I was just thinking it would be fun to play some games with a Rebel list that MUST include an A,B,X and Y-wing against an Imperial List that MUST include a Tie Fighter, Bomber, Interceptor and Advanced. Lists can be more than 4 ships but can only have the original trilogy small bases.
So I guess I screwed up already as a brand new Rebel player by buying the TFA core set instead
That and K-Wing's are sold out everywhere..

Not in Europe. I've got plenty in my FLGS. (But don't need any since I have 3).

You most certainly did not! The article is meant to be just one suggestion.
Besides, you really want both eventually anyway.
That not the point about any miniatures games ? Play your favorite figures with your friends and enjoy ?
Always good to see this kind of article, I hope FFG will do more or another "no one left behind"
Today I finally play with my tie striker and fall in love, my main complain is now I want more.
Maybe it's because he not a native english speaker, but this read like the most happy go-lucky X-wing article every. "I like X-wing! You should like X-wing! Yeah X-wing!" It was actually really endearing. I'd be curious what a more competition oriented article from him would look like.
Saw X-Wing picture and was immediately
Then I read the title and was like
Article is still cool, but that image was SUCH A TEASE.

AREN'T PILOTS SUPPOSED TO FIX THEIR OWN FIGHTER? (wookieepedia)
Epic Scum
, Star Viper and the Kihraxz 'fixes': these seem to have a spot upcoming in future expansions like a a Scum Aces box (which is expected)... but I wonder
when/where
the "X-wing Fix" fits on the list of priorities and how soon will we get it...
The X-wing fix seems likely in a Rogue One expansion - to me that feels like soon . But I still wonder when the Hell we are gonna get an announcement- hopefully before the next movie.

First off, good luck with your Tie Striker! I've flown mine twice and I finally got it the 2nd game. Be very zippy with it. Attack and retreat....
Now, I have to say that I like this X-wing 101 series idea. I mean, with the title, you think it's about the basics for how to play X-wing. The idea of only spending $101 and to play a good game is actually a neat twist. I think it's kind of challenging. In fact, I should challenge everyone here.
If you were new to the game, and could only spend $101 USD on the game, what would you buy and build?
Now, I should say that you have to use FFG prices and not online web store prices. You have to get a Core set of either new or old style. I know that kind of limits Scum. Sorry for that. Limitations to the question.
This could be a fun thing to do on a Friday afternoon!

Tricking newbies into buying product that nobody who knows how the game works is interested in buying anymore?
I really like this article because it tells you what to buy when you feel lost as a newbee, plus it shows a T-65 so its good in my book.

That why I love this ship, he strike hard and can fly away, perfect hit and run ship (adaptive ailerons and lightweight frame help a lot)
This kind of article remember me when I was a beginner, may be i'm a little nostalgic but it's was a pleasant feeling and yes very tricky to build a squadron with few expansions pack.
Now I helping news players and hope they got this feeling I have during my firsts steps on this game.

That's only from the perspective of a tournament gamer. If you aren't doing tournaments, then a lot of these old ships are still great to fly. There is a lot more to the game than 100/6.

Also, depending on your local scene, HOTR Falcon, T-65s in the form of biggs and upgrades like R2-D2, Marksmanship, T-70s and K-Wings are not actually that bad. Torf said he wasn't aiming for a real high-level competitive list building but that 101 US still gives you a great jumping off point.
Buy 1 Red core set
Buy 3 Tie Phantoms
Play 2-3 phantoms against Jim Chad, watch a single tear from his eye.
I bought the TFA core and the A-Wing for PTL, I was planning to buy Heroes of the Resistance next and run a Poe/Rey combination to the best my abilities and only be in the game for $100 US. Try this at my first tournament in a few weeks to see what I like, this article makes me wish I bought the original but I feel like I can still swing a competitive list.
