Spynet and Fleet Ambush

By Triangular, in Star Wars: Armada Rules Questions

Dear Admirals,
we began with our Campaign and I will soon have to choose one objective to play. Now I'm not sure what a Spynet-Token allows during a Fleet Ambush. I will have to deploy the odd-numbered ships in the Ambush Zone. After deployment I'm allowed to redeploy. But would this allow to bring a ship out of the Ambush Zone into Deployment Zone and vice versa? The text of the CC Rules Book says: "redeploy them in any place allowed by the game's objective card." (p. 13)

What do you think?

You must redeploy in a legal position for that ship.

If it was in the ambush zone it must be redeployed in the ambush zone.

If it was in the deployment zone it must be redeployed in the deployment zone.

Played this exact set-up last night - we did as Gink says above.

O/T Turned out horrifically badly for me (first player) - I'd purposely lured the Imperial player into defending against me with a view to setting up my Sato AF MkII A to double-arc kill his Gozanti or Raider I and then running away from his twin ISDs before he could retaliate.

Worked a charm, except for poor die rolls* leaving the Raider on 1 health and then the retreating AF landing in front of my Pelta which then rammed it. Due to the Pelta not moving it couldn't then flee the front arc of the pursuing ISD. The Pelta was only there because I had a last minute change of plan using my spynet token, literally, just because I could; no other reason. Lost me the game...

*rolled: Side arc - 1 Blue, 2 Red a Black, added a Black through CF, rerolled both blacks with OE; Rear arc - 1 Blue, 2 Black rerolled 1 with OE. I had H9 to take out his brace. Did a total of 5 damage...
