Seeing as it's not posted on the FFG page its unlikely anyone has a PDF or text version of the CC rules right? I bought the kit, but I can't leave rule books laying around at work. I'd like to use my down time to read up.
CC Rule Book PDF? Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?
I too would be interested in a PDF version of the rules.
Maybe they will post it when an FAQ hits?
Maybe.
But its illegal (and against forum use policy) to share it until such time as they do so on their Website.
Once they do, all good. But until then.

Is it illegal to share it? You still need all the components from the kit to play. I thought it is illegal if you make money off it.

Kinda my thoughts. It's a rule book, why would you hide the rules? It's not like the RPG where the rules make the game. You still need to buy the kit to play. Idk... I never read the terms and conditions... I'm just hoping someone out there sees this and PMs it to me so I'm not bored stupid on break...
The intent to profit isn't a requirement to violate copyright law in some places. Same as the statement of Parody isn't always going to protect you if you're not in the United States.
Regardless, digitising and sharing components that are not provided by FFG themselves is against the forum use policy... As is, you know, advertising.
Call it a lesson learned.
A lot of people advertise things in a certain way and get away with it (like providing direct links to ETSY sites and such) - which is against the Forum Use Policy... Others, like myself, do so and get Warned. Officially. And thus did the only LEGAL thing they could with their Business.
So its hardly fair. But its the way it is.
Just because you can get away with it, doesn't make it legal...

Really, if anything should be taken away from this, it's that the FFG admins and Armada Dev teams should stop being so lazy and get to work already.
I think I've only ever seen one post locked by an admin my whole time here.... and the time it takes them to type up a FAQ or digitize a rulebook that undoubtedly started as a digital copy is too **** long. lol
...If the intent ever was to share it, instead of directly encouraging you to buy a $29.95US kit, which has a bunch of extra other stuff you want.
Control vs Convenience.

I don't dispute it's against forum policy. But if I were to scan it in, would I get a C&D letter from FFG for sharing it not on the forums? Like FB or Discord? That was more of my question. I don't pay much attention to copy right laws because I never care to try and do anything like this.
Nvm you just answered my question.
::shrug::
I'm trying to be friendly and all and provide advice and warnings.
Well... at the rate it takes FFG to do anything.... I may as well start hiding the rulebook in my desk while I'm at work or something....
Oh well.
Thanks for the input guys!

Hey, while we're on that subject, I should probably use my downtime to read up on the forum rules. I can't find a link to 'em anywhere. Mind linking them to me?
So I'm confused...
The line:
(Under accounts)
"You will not use the account for commercial purposes, except as expressly provided herein and/or with express written consent from FFG."
seems to conflict with the line:
(under permissions)
"Provided you abide by the Terms, FFG grants you permission to access the FFG Website for personal use and/or limited commercial use as expressly permitted herein."
Also this line:
"FFG has no control over and assumes no responsibility for any product, service or event offered by a third party through the FFG Website, including Organizations. FFG recommends using your best judgment and to exercise caution where appropriate."
I may just be stupid at legal talk.... the terms just seem to be there to cover their butts if something goes wrong and someone tries to sue.... but based on this, doesn't that mean advertising and selling is allowed?
Are their different terms for the Forum section of the website?
At no point does it actually grant you any right to commercial use. Only what is "provided within" or "expressly written" and what is "provided within" amounts to... Nebulous Legal Talk that is worth nothing.

Scan your own copy. Problem solved.

Yeah, I'll leave the legal talk to people smarter than I. lol
"limited commercial use" is not a defined term in the arrangement, and thus, it is sole-ly at their discretion.
You can get away with it, like some.
You can not, and end up living in fear, like me.
Seems to happen both ways.
Came here hoping to find info on CC which I don't own yet.
Legal mumbo jumbo, left disappointed.
