Give the poor sod an EPT. That would go a LONG way towards making him less terrible.
New life to old and unused Eaden Vrill
I think he's simply been underrated.
Stress mechanics are pretty good on their own. Punishing one is a 12 point title. Play Eaden with a stress-inducing ship and you have a cheap, quality, 10 health, 3 power turret with barrel roll and a good dial.
I've used this list with good success:
- Braylen Stramm - R3-A2 + Gunner + Alliance Overhaul
- Eaden Vrill - Intelligence Agent + Anti-Pursuit Lasers + Smuggling Compartment + Feedback Array
- Hera Syndlla (Attack Shuttle) - Veteran Instincts + Navigator + Ion Turret
Stramm and Eaden are both PS 3 so Stramm can stress before Vrill shoots. Intel agent and APL is very strong on a large based ship with 1 turns and barrel roll. You can often lock your dial to move in between their best options and use intel agent to see which direction you need to barrel roll for a block. Feedback array works nicely on a blocker as you can use it at combat against a ship that bumped you and is the final piece to make Vrill a nightmare for the aces that would otherwise outfly Stramm. Hera is an ace at PS 9 that can adjust its movement to get heavy hitting shots at range one or ion shots as it skirts the battle. Ion and stress plays well together and the other ships ability to limit or dictate your opponents movement leaves Hera with a lot of offensive opportunity.
Eaden Vrill has several new cards that give him hope for the future.
Rey crew, Cassian crew, Rigged Cargo Chute. I always liked adding on a 3 point ion canon to help keep ships stressed and up your attack if the enemy isn't stressed yet. Nowadays, instead of adding an HLC, you can just add a concussion missile with guidance chips to give you a cheaper, more accurate 4-dice attack. YT-2400's do have a missile slot.
Not to hijack the thread, but I have been contemplating dropping the title, HLC, and determination on Leebo. It is cheaper than Dash for an annoying flanker, and it directly counters the Dark Side.

I did this, plus R2-D2 crew, and it was bananas. I had the luck to draw Major Hull Breach -- all damage cards dealt face up -- as the first crit on Leebo (with no pilot card to discard) and most of the subsequent cards dealt had a pilot card. I think between Determination and R2 I mitigated about 7 damage that one game.
I used to run:
YT-2400: · Eaden Vrill (32)
Heavy Laser Cannon (7)
Tactical Jammer (1)
· Chewbacca (4)
-- TOTAL ------- 44p. --
It was my favorite ship... But I think the jumpmaster and lothal rebel are better values now.
Why are people using canons on Vrill? His ability is primary attack only so at if your getting mileage out of the canon, you may aswell go with the generic instead. If your getting mileage out of his ability the points on the canon are wasted.
I can see versatility etc but, with the 2400 being an expensive platform I really prefer keeping it as lean as possible unless it's Dash flying it.
