You realize that is completely contrary to what happens in every CCG once supply normalizes right?
It's because most packs are opened by people who bought them at wholesale pricing, not retail. Yes, that means usually, buying packs is pointless in CCGs. Usually they have to give the packs away as prizes or have them purchased as part of a draft or as a special promotion like prerelease events. Yeah, people still buy them as impulse buys too but generally, you just buy the cards you need to make the deck you want. It is cheaper that way unless you have a lot of people to trade with, in which case, you are probably still in school.

Or go to a FLGS that has a good community in said ccg. My local store held a trading post event a few weeks ago and I was able to snap up a few rares and uncommons. Plus, it's not very exciting going on eBay or a dedicated card selling website and going that's the card I want, click, card bought. Of course if its just the odd card you need that works well enough, but to build the bulk of a collection this way would work out more expensive.
