Experimental List (Rebels)

By Krodarklorr, in X-Wing Squad Lists

Hey guys, I have a local tournament coming up and I wanted to try something different than what most people would expect. I've crafted a fluffy list that I think has some kick against current popular lists (last local tournament we had 10 people and 5 Falcons, and the others ran JM5K and Tugboats. I was the only Imperial player). So let me know what you think.

Wes Janson (32) - VI, R3 Astromech, Integrated Astromech

Wedge Antilles (33) - Push the Limit, R2 Astromech, Integrated Astromech

Blue Squadron Pathfinder (35) - Sensor Jammer, Stealth Device, Attack Wing, Kyle Katarn, Jan Ors

The point is to pass out focuses/evades when needed to keep the U- Wing and Wedge alive longer, and have Wes there to strip tokens on aces/mindlinks and if he doesn't have the option to really do damage, use the R3 to survive longer.

Thoughts?

Defensively interesting, but not efficient I don't think...

Why not Jyn/Jan instead of Kyle tho? Are you really going to stress yourself often enough with the BSP to use Kyle?

I'm still not sold on stealth device on a 2 agility ship... to easy to squash that. Hull upgrade is almost always better... I guess Sensor jammer helps in this case. but I think the 7 points you've put into defense on the U-Wing can be better spent.

PTL on Wedge with only focus/TL being your actions is also questionable. Predator is a much better use of 3 points.

Predator is a good option, and he can keep his focus for defense. Would you recommend I go with R3 on him instead? Just so, worst case scenario, he can get an evade as well?

And the idea with the U-wing is that most lists I've seen lately only have 2-3 ships, usually one of which being manaroo. So most lists have 1-2 major damage dealers (last tournament it was All Rey All Day). So removing focuses/locks with Wes then counting sensor jammer, the U-wing can actually be a little tanky.

Alright, I've tinkered with it a bit more, and I think this may prove better.

Wes Janson (32) - R3 Astromech, VI, Integrated Astromech

Wedge Antilles (34) - R3 Astromech, Predator, Integrated Astromech

Cassian Andor (34) - Adaptability, Jyn Erso, Jan Ors, Enhanced Scopes, Anti-Pursuit Lasers, Pivot Wing

Now The idea is to use Cassian as a Blocker, but still shoot at PS7. Clearing stress is nice if need be, but if he can block (also moving first to get into position for using Pivot Wing and also using Jyn before everyone moves) then that's further removing tokens from enemy ships, in addition to Wes.

I would be tempted to put R3-A2 on Wes instead of an R3 as being able to add Stress in addition to token stripping can be handy. Even Mindlink lists can be inconvenienced by Stress as it stops the Fangs K-Turning or T-Rolling.

That is a very good point. I just figured I'm not worried about Wes doing damage so much as stripping tokens and staying alive. But that is a good idea.

VI on Wes is great. get him to fire first and strip some tokens.

too bad you don't got enough points to swap out for Sabine and a bomb on Cassian. Thats a favorite for me. :)

I'm sorry to go off topic but what we're the Rey builds you saw last tournament? I'm still flailing about trying to nail mine down.

Rey with Finn, New title, push the limit, ECT. The best one in particular I saw had Expertise instead of PTL, and Kanan Jarrus. So he could 3-sloop, not take stress, and get a free blank with rerolls and all Focuses were auto hits.

And another list ran a cheaper rey, but with Biggs and Rex.

I don't want to hijack your original topic so I'm going to start a new one on this. Would you mind answering a couple questions in it?

So, I ran this list last night against a friends list that he just threw together. It consisted of Rex, two Prototype Pilots, and Miranda Doni with a TLT. I was savagely annihilated, but Wedge (being the only one alive now) finished off the K-wing, the other A-wing, and jousted with Rex until I was the Victor.

I do not like this list, and I honestly Don't know how to make the U Wing good.
