I ordered Miskatonic!

By CEOWolf, in Arkham Horror: The Card Game

Well I go to a comic book store that's out there and found Dunwich Legacy and almost beaten it all by myself but the monster that's friggen mandatory to summon kicked my ass.. (I know this is Lovecraft and game is built to make it hard no matter what difficulty but almost every monster does too much damage...) But anyway I asked my more local store to hold Miskatonic when they get it in. I'm super excited unlike Netrunner which I hardly have any sets I'm determined to buy all 6 expansions.

Some Questions: Is that Permanent card to switch zeros out only perm in the set? I hope each class gets one.

Is it like next to impossible to not lose a fight and have to suffer trauma in a campaign?

Firstly, they have spoiled at least one other Permanent card yet to come out (Charisma, which allows a second Ally in play) so I imagine it'll be something they periodically revisit for fresh cards.

As for monsters, the very first scenario is the only one I can remember where you *have* to defeat an enemy to "win". So if you're not kitted up to fight enemies, approach it on a different way, and maybe accept you won't get the absolutely best resolution. Otherwise, bring someone who can handle themselves in a fight. If you want versatility and still want to be able to kill stuff, I would advise Roland, Skids, Jenny or Ashcan Pete. Arguably, Agnes and Jim can both hold their own if they get the right spells in play, too, of whom, Jim is the (slightly) better investigator. Or, get some friends playing and bring a mixed party. The best success my playing group have had is with Zoey, Ashcan, Daisy and Rex. Going well on Dunwich so far...

By "first scenario" I meant The Gathering, not the 1a or 1b for Dunwich, just for clarity.
